Default Interesting little hints in here about Detroit Auto Show...

Older video (12/20) but, I feel there is some interesting insight about the booth (as some have wondered what to expect) and demographic target, as well as what Chevrolet is increasingly moving towards. Turbochargers...

Cobalt lost its supercharger for turbo, new compact cars with turbo...ZR1...with turbo?

Only a few more days to speculate...I need to do some...

Based on the Keeks CAD, I would expect another round of supercharging instead of turbocharging for the higher-spec Corvette. It's a solution they have well in hand already.

Well, we'll just see what we'll see....won't we...

For logistics sake, I can see the current combination remaining, but...would love to see a turbo Corvette.

I'd love to see turbo too considering the success the ls has had with turbos.

New concept cars too. Wonder what that'll be

haha...sneakay sneakayyyy blue ox...I'll leave it alone for now...haha.

The thing I found interesting was they said the booths are going to be very interactive. Could mean something interesting for the Corvette! Also, found it interesting they spoke directly about young buyers.

Interactive booths sounds like touch screens that simulate the dash cluster.

Most booth personnel are interactive, in my experience.

Sure they are interactive. Just look at the GT5 announcement. They had PS3 stations there for the folks to play with the camoed C7. A few months back they had a station where you could sit at the wheel of a Caddy XTS to play with the CUE system.

There could be a lot of different things going on with the C7. One would think they will certainly have a version of the new interior you can easily see and probably sit in. Could be a ton of that kind of stuff...

Well, having exhibited and been to more trade shows and cars shows than I almost remember, booths don't tend to be very truly "interactive". GM's booth at SEMA this year, was as dull as any year, shy of a big screen to watch. AutoShow booths are grand features compared to trade shows though, so I'd hope to see them spend a little on some new ideas for people.

I know a couple people who build and design booths for shows. The cost...good LAWWD...it's incredible. FAR more than I'd estimated, and I shot high. Knowing I've paid 800.00 to rent a set of ropes for a 7 day auto show helps put things in perspective...lol. I've rented Mercedes from LAX for the same time for less. So, hearing on this video that they were going to material versus hard walls really peaked my interest because in an auto show environment, that's pretty unorthodox. I appears like they focused heavily on serious cost savings, in order to put it to something else.

All speculation of course...and just drawing from all those days I've spent in Kentia, North Hall, David L Lawrence and many more setting up our booths and booths for DUB (not fun).

I guess more than anything, I'd just like to see GM step their game up a bit. Sticking a 50" plasma with Forza or GT5 and a pissy controller...it doesn't get me excited, that's all I'm sayin. Last Ford booth I was in, they had a damn secret penthouse in the sky...the booth was 750k easy...and one plasma with an Xbox...cmon now.

I was supposed to be involved with an exhibitor at the Detroit show, but it fell through. I'll still be chillin with a buddy who will be showing there though. I'll be there regardless, so I'll be bitchin about it first hand...lol.

My favorite booths are the ones where the people are well-schooled in the product.

Well, that and booths with detailed mechanical cutaways.

Video games and computer kiosks do nothing for me -- I didn't come out to the show to get stuff that could be on a game console or a web page or a tablet app.
