If a 1984 C4 and a 1997 C5 is on the list,anything is possible.

Well I doubt it. The C4 and C5 were from the ground up new platforms. The C5 in fact was considered newer than the 1953 Corvette because it had 98% new content and only shared screws and some minor body hardware with the C4. C7 is not going to be all that new im afraid it will still be riding on a heavily modified C5 platform as is C6.

With that familiar 'A' pillar it does seem that way but GM says everything is new..

Yep, they say only the cabin filter and roof hold down clamp is carried over from the C6. Sounds pretty new to me.

Yea there will be a lot of new content in C7 but its still riding on the C5s basic platform design. What I am waiting to see is if the wheel base has changed any this will tell the tale I have a funny feeling the C7 is going to be an inch or two longer between the wheels from what I have seen on the test mules. If so this will be a big deal and a needed refinement IMO. To be honest and not to start anything im not totally convinced that there isn't some sort of jump seat in the rear I hope im wrong but that one manual picture sure looks like there could be some pop up something back there.

I don't see why its needed at all. The C6 already has a pretty long wheelbase for its size and compared to like cars.

As for it still using the C5 platform, unlike the C6, this one will probably be far enough away from both that no parts are interchangeable.
