Default C7 Side Marker Lights

While everyone is arguing over the C7 taillights, a more insideous issue may be brewing, the side marker lights. Most renderings show side marker lights arching around the wheel wells that appear to be two feet long! I hope they don't put side marker lights on that draw that much attention to themselves. There's nothing attractive about side marker lights.

I voiced my displeasure upon first seeing them in the Jalopnik sketches. I believe I called them bad design, and probably cheap as well, and many people disagreed with my assessment.

Look closely at the keeksCAD of the 3/4 rear shot. The side markers are very thin and quite attractive.

My Mini's side markers are very similar. I hope chevy has thought of making them a little easier to access the bulbs than those whacky Germans. There's gotta be a better way than jacking the car, removing a wheel, and having to take a fender lining loose.. held in with those infuriating plastic screws that always round out

Side marker lamps were required by law starting in 1968, upgraded to reflectors too soon after. They're something we have to live with. But in many cases Corvette's side marker lamps have been cheap looking and not very flush either. The C7 is not the first car to use this style with the lamps around the wheel arches but it looks better than previous Corvette lamps. They're integrated with lines that are already there and it looks like they'll actually be flush and not so cheap looking.

Agree. Once the aftermarket black-out lenses appear on the scene, these new side markers will be almost invisible on the darker cars.

By now i think most are just tired and ready to see the real thing. Whats done is done. Just give it to us on a platter and drop off the check.

Hmm...450+hp/450 ft lbs torque...3000 (+/-)lbs....aluminum frame...mostly CF body...brand new interior...advanced transmissions...advanced dash electionics...etc. I can handle cheap side markers if I have to.

Wonder how the blackout kits will look on the c7? That could be bizarre.

I have a question that is not part of this thread but it seems if you are asking about the side marker lights I was thinking how will they effect the use of a bra? As for the C7 bra...What cup size do you think it will be?

Although this mod does look good, I would not tempt fate either with my life or the liability if I was the recipient of a side collision on my C7 after I buy one. The insurance company of the person who hit you may claim you violated US Regulations on side marker/light visibility, especially at night.

I like them, similar to the new Viper which look like fangs when lit up at night, which I assume is no coincidence

Not cheap at all. On the contrary I think they look great. It tie's in nicely with the faceted brake light. Very avant garde !!!

I don't see how anyone could have a rendering of a side marker light that is anything more than a wild guess. Can they see through the camo covering on the test cars?

OP, I was always advised not to be part of the problem; be part of the solution. If you don't like them, what would you suggest will work better? Just curious to hear your solution.
