Production to begin
According to the New York Daily news:
The first of the new C7 Corvettes is expected to roll off the line in Bowling Green on June 30 - 60 years to the day that the first 1953 model was produced, according to two suppliers familiar with the automaker's plans but are not authorized to speak on behalf of GM.

Thats an old article dated 10/18/12.
I could tell it was using old information when it said the C7 will be using a 5.5L engine. We all know the LT1 powering the C7 Coupe has been formally introduced as 6.2L.
Price does seem right on though. As I've seen Mike Furman suggest the MSRP will start 'around' $54k. That seems to be a very specific guess..

Every article written about the C7 has some flaws. The interesting thing is the suppliers giving a date for production aligned with the first C1.
Everyone's a critic just looking for faults..optimism is a lost art..

Agreed! This forum sometimes has all the charm of an "Exploring the Wonders of PMS" session at a NOW conference.

So 2013 is the 60th anniversary (1953 - 2013) and 60 years later they are building the 2014.

Well stated! The fault finding critics dilute the spirit and true value of this forum. The rhetoric sure gets a bit heavy at times with passion-overflow getting in the way at times. Overall, one hell of a valuable forum with many awesome contributors.

They may be pre-production test & fit vehicles.
True sellable production C7's aren't supposed to start down the assembly line until August (though tomorrows news may say something different... )

The one where they're checking panel gaps... it doesn't look like a Corvette in that shot; and/or it's on a mule.

A friend's Z06 was one of the first 09's built, VIN 75. It was built in June 2008 and he took delivery of it(425 miles from the factory) in June 2008. My 09 was built at the very end of June 2008, and it arrived at my dealer July 24, 2008. It got caught in the July two week shut down and wasn't shipped until the middle of July.
