C7 Dealer Allocations - UPDATED 3/18/13
Date: 03/18/2013
Subject: Delay in Corvette Stingray Initial Allocation Notification
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On March 5, 2013, you received GM GlobalConnect message G_0000160637, stating Chevrolet had planned to update dealers today (Monday, March 18, 2013) on their status concerning initial allocation for the 2014 Corvette Stingray as well as the applicable training and special tool requirements. The message also indicated that dealers who are anticipating initial allocation would be able to view an estimated production guide number for the initial production period of the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
A technical issue has developed that prevents us from publishing those estimated production numbers at this time. Chevrolet is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible; however, until those issues are resolved, Chevrolet will not be providing any information on individual dealer status for initial allocation, training or special tools.
All dealers will receive a message via GM GlobalConnect as soon as the issue is resolved.
Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for posting...hopefully this is not something (technical issues) that will continue in the development of the C7.

It could be that initial demand is so high that Chevy is scrambling to figure out how to meet it and not make anyone mad because they can't get a car right away.

Please let's not talk about the world ending yet. In the development of every new car series, there are many stop-n-starts, some taking a day to fix, some weeks. Read "All Corvettes are Red" to see some of those in the development of the C5.
Please, the sky is not falling.... It is simply a problem that they have identified, and will fix BEFORE the production starts. And the chances of it (whatever the identified problem is -- I sure have no idea), delaying the C7 are simply unknown at this time, even by GM. Just like a shuttle take off with its planned and unplanned holds, the C7 will take off, and we should all be thankful they have I found a concern and are addressing it now before the first car is sold to us.

Another good reason we aren't getting the numbers we are all looking for. HP, weight, exact dimensions, pricing etc.
They just don't have every detail buttoned down yet.
All the more exciting when we do get all the info.

I'm sick and tired of this, I'm just going to wait for the 2015.

Do you mean there could actually be bugs or problems the first year?
Why would there be bugs?
1. All new car
2. Complete new design
3. Newly designed parts
4. New tooling processes
5. New vendors / suppliers
6. New technology
7. New plant tooling / construction
8. New body shop
9. New software / encryption
10. New vehicle launch / allocation
I just dont see where any bugs could start popping up.
