But did you look closely at the mag cover images? I mean really, they in no way even look remotely like an actual photograph of the actual car. Not even close. Especially the R&T front image. I'm not saying the renderings aren't accurate, just not photos.

As for the issue of mags looking stupid for printing renderings after the reveal, well, the magazines are most likely not even printed yet. The actual mag will have photos, these are just mock ups.

Look, with all GM has done to protect this thing prior to the reveal, and all the hype and build up for the "big reveal". If these magazines were to release their photo shoots prior to that reveal, GM would be able to sue them for the shirts off their backs. Sure, they may be accurate, very accurate. But they are not 'retouched' photos, they are renderings. Perhaps from a photo, but artwork just the same. Come on, be reasonable.
I have credible info that they are photos and your insistence they aren't is what is unreasonable.

...perhaps the cover is a photograph of a rendering? or a redering of a photoshopped photo, or a photo of a rendered ... oh dear I've gone cross-eyed.!

I am surprised and impressed that no "real" photos of an undisguised c7 has escaped. I remember the c6 pics of the car up on a flatbed being brought into a building surfaced a while before the reveal.

I have no guarantees, but that is what I was told.

I certainly believe there has been significant retouching done to the image but was told the base image is a photo.

I hope the rear end doesn't look like ANY of the renderings we've been seeing. They are all hideous IMHO and, frankly, bad enough to turn me off the C7 all together. GM design has a way of either hitting home runs (the C6) or making utterly disgusting crap (the current Camaro).

No matter though........pics are just that........and I will reserve my judgement until I get to Detroit next week and see it for myself. And if it's like the renderings, I'll say it here publicly that used C6 values will get a boost as a result.

The photos so far make me think there will be no problem selling truck loads of this car.

If you don't like the back paint it satin black. If this car has Gen 3 magnetic ride it is going to be smoking fast.

What I've seen of the rear is horrible. If they are even remotely accurate, I will be sad for the Corvette family and oh so happy to have a C6.

I really like the new lines of all renderings. Round is out and crisper lines for the future. The soft curves like on the C5 have made room for the new and future designs of sharp and distinct lines. Corvette will be a world class design and the unveiling will be a winner.

If Jalopnik and the Internet had been around in 1956-57 this is what we would have seen for the "new" 1958 Corvette.
