Everyone questions when another Vette generation comes out. My opinion is they did a damn good job on this car!! All the other super cars from Europe and Japan are going to be nervous wrecks. This car will kick ***!!
The Stingray name is back....let's not forget they are spelling it in one word from the C3 Generation not Sting Ray which was back in the C2 days. I'm sure many performance versions are in the pipeline as well as the convertible .
Looking forward to seeing this generation dominate in racing just like the prior generations.

The THING has Camaro tail lights and Camaro looking stereo head unit... It looks EXACTLY like a Camaro from behind..... very disappointed.

Default They almost got it right

Even my Wife, who's not a car person, said, "Camaro" when she saw the *** end of this thing. It's really too bad because the rest of car looks great, love the front fascia, vents and the interior looks great. They came so close to making this car a winner, and common sense would tell you that Vette lovers don't want a Camaro lookalike, how could GM be so stupid? The Corvette rear end is unique to a Vette, not a copy of more generic Camaro. Unbelievable, how they could get it so wrong, such a disappointment.

I like it better than the prior renderings but it's still not doin it for me. It sounds like they did quite a bit in the electo/technical end but just missed the mark in the looks dept.

Z06 frame was 136 pounds lighter then the steel frame. All they could do for the C7 was a 99 pound reduction. And where is all the carbon fiber? They said only the hood and roof was carbon fiber. That ought to be around 15-17 pound reduction over a base C6. With the LT1 weighing 35 pounds more then the LS3, they will be lucky to net an 80 pound reduction or a curb weight of around 3130 pounds. No wonder they said the C7 will only be faster around the track then the heavyweight Grand Sport. 450 horsepower and 3130 pounds isn't going to knock off the Z06. I guess that everyone that is jealous of the C6 Z06, and was hoping for a $50,000 Z06 Killer with the C7, will be crying loud tonight.

Disappointed
With all the great concept designs out there for this release the damn exterior designers couldn't get past the Camero back end. Cost cutting? And calling it a Stingray?!? Come on - trying way to hard to hype this thing. Next thing we will be reading how awesome the design is in the car rags but the authors will all be thinking "why the damn Camero *** on a Corvette?"
"International design" is nice way of saying we tried to copy everyone else.

The one on the GM website from Cobo Hall at the Detroit Auto Show.
As far as you driving a brick, I don't know what you're talking about.

Camaro wishes its taillights looked that complex and layed out. They are just 4 squares with fake chrome around them.

And I agree with the vents and grilles everywhere, cheap plastic look. It has some interesting styling elements when you isolate them but taken in it's entirety don't think it works. The interior kinda looks like a throwback to the C4.

I'm sure the technical side will be cool.....
to a C4 vents and grills work. Rear fenders are probably vented for down-force

Like someone stated, very similar reactions to 97 & 05 & look how many C5/C6 cars out there.....

Like it, quite a bit.

PS I was not exaclty thrilled about the rear of the C6 back in 05, now I think C6's are great looking. It will grow on all, just like all the past generations have.

I agree it could use some work. The black diffuser things is a little too high IMO. Oh well I still like most of it. The aftermarket will take care of the rest.

Well not exactly but pretty similar as similar can get and why the designers thought it was a good idea to do it that way when they had a clean sheet to work from i'll never understand;
