GT500 has 662bhp for 54K, C7 450bhp for 60K?

Mustang GT is the best buy of them all for the $$$$$. Priced right, easy to drive, easy clutch to engage and shift unlike GT-500 which is going to have a even stiffer ride and perhaps an unaceptable ride on real world streets.. That 5.0 32 valve in 6 spd. manual loves to rev. and it is fund to drive.

Its all good though, American muscle rules.

Note to forum: the GT500 has been though substantial changes over the past 6 years...including a shift to an alum engine block (over 100 lb lighter) as well as an increase from 500 to 662 HP, brake changes, weight reduction, suspension changes, torsen rearend, recaro seats...
Although a Sports car to Pony car comparison is dumb in my opinion..if your gonna compare a current Corrvette (C6) to a GT500 just make sure your compariing a CURRENT GT500 not one that was surpassed within Ford years ago.
As for the C7...new GT500 is due out in 14 months with the total redesign of the Mustang set for April 2014. THAT is the car you need to consider when comparing with the new C7 as both will be in production and on the street within 8 months of each other.

To each his/her own.....
There are many vehicles out there on the road that can be stomped by a 66 Nova with 600 Hp, or a 2008 Cobra with 700 Hp, etc.....
Then take a look at the underpowered exotics like Porsche GT2 around 450 HP, or the 2005/2006 Audi R8 at 450 HP. Some people just don't care about HP as they do the vehicle itself. My C5 was smoking these cars in Germany. Even got props from some spirited British guy romping his Ferrari F430 to 180+ with me and another guy gave me the thumbs up when he backed off his 2006 BMW M6 as we peaked over 188 mph. I hit 191 in my Forged C5. Who cares....Their cars were 5x the cost of mine and gorgeous rides no doubt. Its not always about horsepower.
That M6 can haul ***! And, a 4-seater to boot!!!
Ferrari F430? My dream car. I smoked him. But, the truth is, I can't afford one and it is an entirely different class than a Corvette.
So is a Mustang.

The Corvette isn't a competitor of those cars.

Am i missing something here? I get the Vette will run circles around the Stang on a track, but line up the side view mirrors on a highway and the Stang will run away from the C7.
Given both Dodge and Chevy had no clue Ford would screw both them over with the bang-for-buck in the Shelby, but the bar was raised, and Chevy didn't really show us anything that was WOW with regards to power.
Funny how LOW 450bhp sounds now isn't it?

If you're driving a C7, better give up the donuts.
