GM Should Hire This Guy Immediately
I don't know who this guy is, but GM should hire him in a hurry. This is what the C7 should have looked like, or something close to it.
The Corvette is more than just a car, it's art, inspiration, freedom, a thing of beauty. What GM was thinking to have actually gone to production is hard to understand...
Now, these here below is a f'n car to dream about. This is sex on wheels. This is what Corvette SHOULD HAVE DONE with the C7. This guy is an f'n genius:

Those look real production ready. Wind tunnel tested yet?

Absolutely hideous.
I can't do CG renders, but I'm fairly handy with a pencil and Strathmore 9x12" sketch pads. I'll see what I can whip up.
- Where the rear hatch line blends with the rear fender line is not very well executed, the glass/frame should hit the deck at or just in front of the apex of the fender.
- The nose is bent downwards too steeply and continues along that path for too long. The wheel well doesn't line up with, again, the visual apex of the fender curve, which is further forward due to the stance of the vehicle.
- The bottom of the prow needs to be lifted off of the ground just a tad to line up with the rocker panel slope.
- From what I can tell, the entire rear fascia is a bland and tasteless slab with lights that are too small.
- The rake from the top of the tail down towards the wheels is actually making the car appear too front-heavy; sloping away from the wheel well would actually balance the car better.

Melting Slicks
GM did much better.

The orange car is awesome and is instantly recognizable as a Corvette. That is not something one can say about the C7. The Corvette uniqueness has been lost with the C7.

I agree the car had so much more potential.... and some of the suggested renderings had more of a hollistic corvette design with some stunning visions for the design path for the C7.
The design is still very nice but it is not representative of a seemlessly single concept from a composition stand point. It looks almost like they morphed a next gen Firebird rear facia onto a corvette.
There are no rules here and design can go where ever the heart takes it. Unfortunately there the are a lot of elements all fighting for dominance on the C7 and their is a diminished flow as seen with other vettes or as illustrated with the pics as shown above.

Drifting
I've been drooling over these renderings for months. The side sculpting and roofline is amazing. Of course, it would have to be lifted a bit as a production car and have a few adjustments. Still. Now THIS CAR would have blown everyone away last night, like the unveiling of the C3 in 1968.
