Geesh...I guess my age is showing, but then I read all of the posts on this thread and have concluded that I don't like the negative comments. But, even though there are some design attributes on the C7 that I don't like from the pics, but, I'm going to wait to see one in person. I felt the same about the C6 at first, now I own one and I think it's the best looking car on the road today. With age, perspectives change...I can live with it.

Beefed up steering, 5x stiffer than c6.
Electric power steering, suspension, 'driver mode select', for enhanced experience, brakes, Michelin SS tires..7 speed manual. Just for starters..
Are you telling me you think this base model c7 Corvette will perform below the level of the outgoing model? it won't.
Regardless whether or not its been said by GM unequivocally, which it has I am willing to say that given those upgrades that I can take them at their word, unless They were lying about the car which they are not.
It works 2 ways, all you C7 lovers cant stop talking about how much better the C7 is over the C6..."beefed up steering, better tires, so on so on. Thats all of you're opinions!
On the flip side our opinions say the C7 looks like *** and you guys get butt hurt because this was going to be your dream car/ first Vette!

It is a forum, it is what it is!

c3?
C3 Mako - I had opportunity to work with John Silva back in the early 70's fabricating these. The c7 "back and forth" is deja vu.

I find it ironic that people are complaining about the number of tail light/rear end threads or threads defending the design. I see plenty of threads where people complain about the haters.

There are two that I can see on the first page.

The haters (really don't understand that word when used here) as you and many other like to refer to those that happen to make a negative comment on the C7, have their opinions and to many they are valid points. What you just listed I believe almost everyone will agree with as long as what GM is telling us is correct and we will not know until there are some real world test done on the car.

One point that is worth mentioning, if someone (haters) does not like the looks of the car it does not matter how well it performs they will not buy it. Appearance is what sells cars and if GM missed the ball on this one it really won't matter how much they improved the performance.

I believe that many of those that have voiced there displeasure will end up embracing the C7 as they did with the C6 and before that the C5. There are some of course that will never embrace it and for the most part they were never true Corvette enthusiast to start with

That's a great photochop. Think I'll borrow it and post it up every time someone uses the term "haters"

It is a forum, it is what it is!
In 1999 a guy named Troy Roberts started this forum. I was fortunate enough to caravan with him down to Bowling Green part of my 5000+ km trip in our C5 Z06. My wife and I sat with Troy and had beers one night at the Corvette Forum "cruise in". He started this forum for Corvette enthusiasts to celebrate the Corvette. Yes, to brag about it, share great stories and show off cool upgrades we have done to them. Back then there was so little "hate" threads. Nowadays, it seems more than half the threads are guys complaining about something on their Corvette, or complaining about a dealership or even GM themselves. I am sure Troy looks at the current members and their lack of Corvette knowledge and their constant complaining and he is glad he sold this forum for the huge profit he did.
This forum definitely is not the Corvette forum it was. Now it is more of a dumping ground for complaints and whining about the car for which this forum in named. Shame.
Having said that, I will defend this car until I no longer can, so haters be aware, I am not going anywhere and will post my response to your crap as many times as it takes and as long as it takes.

I feel the same way....would'nt want it any other way!
We all are passionate with our Vettes and if someone talks shi* about how a C6 is going to see nothing but a C7's "tailights....then it is open season, game on!

You know, there are 7 generations of Corvettes discussed on this Forum plus numerous other topics and regional Forums, and many of us engage in more than just this one about the C7. Do you really think the entire forum has gone bad just because some of us don't like the styling of the rear of the C7?

Like I said.........

I just wonder what the reaction would've been if they rolled this out on that stage.

Everyone's entitled to speak their mind. I do, and so should they. It just cracks me up that so many get so wrapped around the axle about the lights, and only focus on the lights. There is so much more to this thing than the lights.

I can only speak for the C6 and the C7. I would imagine the other forums would not have gone to **** since those cars are probably owned by more of the true Corvette person.

Hmm - so, I own a C6 and a C2, but don't like the styling of the rear of the C7. Am I a "true Corvette person" ?

Be careful BW you might be granted hater status if you don't agree with some here.
Here is the part that's intriguing, this people that don't want to hear negative about the crap GM pulled claim they love the car, but do not want a better car, I don't get it, and please don't tell me the car is perfect, no one is saying the car is ugly, or the car is a piece of crap, or that it will not perform, some are just saying they don't like the style, I don't accept the sloppy fit and finish, any blind fool that know anything about cars can see it, the true enthusiast wants improvements. Some people don't pay attention to details or simply don't know about cars, like Racer....
