Default Where are the C7 Convertible Pictures and Specs??

Hi Everyone,

Where are the C7 Convertible Pictures and Specs??
I saw some pictures yesterday of the C7 Convertible. But it didn't look official.

AND IT DIDN'T HAVE A REAR VIEW MIRROR.

Anybody have the real deal? And know the story?

The convertible isn't being produced until later...the coupe comes out first, then they'll add the convertible sometime after that, but I'm not sure when. The only real convertible C7s I've seen have been the camo'd spy versions. It appears they didn't make any for the reveal.

If they want to transcend the current image problem with the vette as they claim, they should get rid of the convertible. Convertibles are meant for barbie and ken dolls.

Another extremely helpful opinion. Way to go.

I trust you wrote this as a joke, if not, well, the Corvette's image issues (real or imagined) have absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that there is a convertible version. There are convertible versions of:
Ferrari 458
McLaren MP4
Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage
Porsche 911
ETC...........

And they seem to do OK. McLaren estimates that 85% of MP4's going forward will be convertibles.

Jimmy

PS. To answer the OP's question, I THINK they will do the C7 convertible like they did the C6. First public reveal at Geneva Auto Show this spring, production beginning first quarter 2014 (just in time for spring).

I couldn't agree more! You and Barney Oldfield are spot on! That's why all Formula One & Indy race cars are hard tops too!

It's a joke Dude. Maybe lighten up a little? Or is the C7 far too serious a subject for levity?

Oh, and the crazy guy is always a very productive and mature addition to any conversation. Or is that just your "excellent" opinion?

Indications are the photos of the convertible that were making the rounds, may have been of a Maisto scale model, not a car.

I guess that's why there were no coupes for the first 10 model years.

Corvette born 1953
Barbie born 1959
Ken born 1961
Corvette coupe born 1963

Perhaps the coupe is for the Barbie and Ken types that don't want their hair messed up.

Sadly, we all tend to have an inflated opinion of OUR opinion. But, what knocked this thread off track was, IN MY OPINION (!), a rather silly comment about the convertible version of a Corvette being the cause of Corvette's "image" problem.

Order your new C7 with a back seat for your Barbie and Ken collection. That should help your image out, or at least reaffirm it.

Image problem???? I can't imagine a cool person of any age group not liking a beautiful looking ride that outperforms other cars costing twice as much.

If GM really wants the younger buyer, the addition of toys & other gadgets might help. Probably not as much as GM simply reducing the price could however.

I attended the Corvette Seminar at B-J on Thursday and the GM interior designer rep present was asked about the convertible. He gave the same corporate answer that I've heard before-they are not speaking about it at this time. Not sure what that really means; is it going to be different than the coupe in more ways than just a top that folds or something else? If only the standard differences between models why not say we expect to release it in X amount of months or whatever and that should satisfy most people. The lack of info about it may/may not be due to something we haven't heard about-or it could be just lack of comments/specifics to make the anticipation grow.
