Looking forward to the C7Z, should I keep the C6Z?
I expect the C7Z to be one incredible machine. My C6Z has a few things to increase the performance (H/C/I/E, Bilsteins,..) and some interior items from DSV. I'm very happy with it. Still, the C7Z should be a significant improvement. I know it's still a few years away, just brainstorming for fun here. Is there any reason that you would keep yours? Maybe because it has the 427 with the QM600 cam's lopey idle? It still looks very good to me, wide stance, aggressive appearance,....

I sold my Z06 and I was sad....for about one minute after I got my new ride.
It is a no brainer, if the C7Z06 is what it should be and I have no doubt it will. I would run not walk to my computer or to the stealership and sell the C6 Z06.
Your results may in fact vary.

Are you asking what I would do or what you should do?

Wouldn't buy a 1st year C7Z anyways, not even 2nd. 3rd year yes

I'll keep my C6 ZR1. It looks hot, especially with the HRE P40s on it. Comfortable driver/long distance cruiser. And it's a performance beast.
My other vette would be the candidate for sale/trade in when the C7 Z or ZR comes out. Don't need 3 vettes. LOL.

If your contemplating getting a C7Z I suggest selling your C6Z now before the C7Z comes out....cuz if history repeats the market will be flooded with several owners doing the same thing and the prices on C6Zs will drop drastically.

Drifting
I am keeping my C6 Z06. I have put way too much time and effort into getting it where I want it.
Halltech Hood & CF102 intake (with beehive)
Caravaggio interior
Akrapovic Exhaust
New diffuser
ADV.1 10.1SL rims in ZR1 tire sizes
Black Chrome RaceMesh
Katech Aero components
Now I am actually presently surprised by the C7 Corvette. I can't wait to see what they do with the performance version. If it is more aggressive than the base model, I could be interested.
I have been looking to add a 2010 Viper ACR to my garage, but this new vette got me thinking.
Now I am considering adding a Katech Torquer cam, PRC heads, Fast intake, Katech powder coated heads and coil relocation kit, tune and other bolt ons to get me to around 540 - 550 rwhp.
These mods could tide me over 2 to 3 years until I can compair Viper's offerings to the Corvette performance model. The additonal bonus is the LS7 valve issue will be addressed.
So if you can afford to keep it, have the garage space and it brings a smile to your face when you take it out, I say keep it!

Melting Slicks
Actually, my conversation with a couple of sales guys at the dealer yesterday seems to confirm that once the 2013 Z's are sold, there will be a spike in the prices of used Z's until they announce the C7Z. Even then, if it doesn't compete with the ZR1, the ZR prices will hold.
I really like the C7 and especially the tail lights, but I'm waiting for the ZR1 A8 - no automatic and I'm not interested.

I would wait for the announced price. Many of us think the c7z06 could be in the 90-100k range.
Not really a valid comparison since the old computer (z06) is faster than the new computer (c7).
