So how bad is a C7 going to beat a C6 LS3 in stock performance?

GM HAS NOT released any information showing that this car is HEAVIER. That is just you again making up "facts".
They did has however that they achieved over 100lbs. in weight reduction. So please show where you saw a spec sheet indicating that this car is heavier without it also saying (estimated) right next to it.
Now if the power numbers stay relatively consevative then I suspect that this car will probably performance like a ls3 with intake/headers/tune (even full bolton's) or a mid 11's @ 122mph-125mph stock. But anything could happen especially if she in fact puts on a few pounds and keeps the power the low power numbers.

One thing that I have not seen anybody mention is the seven speed manual and the ratios that come with that. This can have a huge impact on acceleration and performance. Porsche and BMW have been able extract very good performance numbers with their cars while being down on horsepower and torque by considerable margin.Their car have very close ratios that take advantage of the cars torque curve. I believe we will see excellent perormance out of the base car and significantly better as the Z06 or ZR-1 is introduced. I am not concerned about lagging performance in the C7. As for the the C6,C5& C4 crowd, all of these cars are still very capable and because I am excited about the C7 I would never disrespect the three previous generation cars that helped get it there. I own two C4's one a race car one a 1990 ZR-1 and these cars are VERY capable. I have to admit I love the C7.
It is the same tranmission as used in the C6 except they added a .42 overdrive gear. One through six are the same ratios. Base C6 gets the same ratios as the base C6 and the C7 Z51 gets the same ratios as the C6 GS.
Rear end ratio of 3.42 is the same also.
Don't look for any changes in performance from gearing, just better highway gas mileage.

Oh it will...LOL! In a straight line and on the track. If you guys really think it won't have at least 475 HP and weigh more then the C6, I got some swamp land in AZ I wanna sell you.

When the Jalponik renderings first appeared and then all the talk of a new engine with a big horsepower jump, and the super lightweight frame and body, and a new 7 speed transmission, I figured the improved performance would more then offset my dislike of the styling. I was wrong. At this time, the C7's performance doesn't appear to be any better the the C6's. Surely not better then my Z06, not even close.

Absolutely....
The power delivery curve of this motor, coupled with this new transmission is going to make the comparison apples to oranges
The Michelins are going to far exceed any base tire offered previously
The driver experience is an absolute revolution
The LS3 C6 is a fantastic car...a fantastic car....so I hope people respect what an accomplishment this C7 is when it owns that car for 53k bucks.

I believe it is a combination of hype and truth. For instance, Chevy is claiming a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds for the base Corvette C7. You can bet that those numbers are with the 7 speed manual. The C6 Grand Sport with 6 speed manual transmission does 0-60 in 3.95 seconds so is that the only basis upon which GM claims the base C7 is faster than the C6 Grand Sport? What about track times. I suspect the C7 Z51 will be faster both 0-60 and on the track than the C6 Grand Sport, perhaps even matching the performance of C6 Z06 - at least on the track. But we're talking only 1 or 2 "tenths of seconds" here so you'd better like the styling of the C7 to spring for one. And if you are interested in buying an automatic C7, best wait for the 8 speed to become available in 2016....that will be a meaningful improvement in performance over the C6. Meanwhile, Chevy is mumbling something about improvements in the C7's current 6 speed transmission which sound suspiciously familiar to the changes made to the C6's automatic transmission for the 2012 model year (software programming changes which significantly lowered the lag in paddle shift responses)....which it didn't talk about at the time probably out of concern of alienating the pre-2012 C6 model owners.

Not official, but I saw somewhere that the Cd is .30. I was caught up in the super lightweight C7 thing(I would have bet my left nut that the base C7 would weigh 3000#, and am sure glad I didn't bet).

It's 1968 all over again.
Hoping I'm wrong, it will take about a year to find out for sure.

Hopefully, all those vents on the C7 will keep it planted better then the 68 at 150+ MPH. Never had my 69 that fast and would be scared to death to try it.

Oh absolutely. When I had my '07 LS2 those were the best ever 400 horses. Now with my '11 LS3, these are the best 430 horses ever and the first 400 of them are nothing like the ones in my LS2

Seems just like it was yesterday when the C7 was going to be faster then the Z06. Now you're asking if it will be as fast as a base C6. Funny what a day makes.
