Default Differences in Brake Calipers and Rotors

Just thought I'd share my observations regarding the base and Z51 brake calipers and rotors.

Base brakes:

You can actually see that the front rotors (12.6") are smaller than the rear rotors (13.3").

Close up:

Notice the curved C-shaped slots.

Z51 brakes:

The upsized front rotors (13.6") are larger than the rear rotors (13.3").

Close up:

Notice the slots are now completely straight. Also, you can see a tiny Brembo logo on the Z51 caliper that wasn't on the base caliper. Finally, the tire is Dunlop, not sure what that means.

Anyway, just wanted to illustrate the differences between the base and Z51 brakes for those who are visual people like me.

Interesting.

Also note that the car with the base brakes has the black twin-fork wheels which, according to the sales guide, are only available with the Z51 package.

Yeah I noticed that as well, which is exactly why I originally thought the base brakes were the Z51 package since I thought the wheels and brakes are packaged together with the Z51. Plus, all the documentation I have seen on the Z51 package indicates that the Z51 brake rotors are slotted, which made me think the base were not slotted. Turns out they are both slotted, just differently.

EDIT - Also, according to the sales guide, the black wheels require the Z51 package too.

I don't think you can draw these conclusions or make these comparisons yet.

The car shown at the reveal (the red one) is a Z51.

The Gray car shown in the bottom is an earlier build prototype and there is no guarantee on content.

For example, the red brakes on the reveal car are Brembo, just no logo. The tires are all going to be Michelin
