The writer of 'barbara ann' was not a regent but was the brother of a regent and his name is fred fassert. The brother in the band is chuck. Fred mad all his money from the sound track from american graffiti which sold millions. He also made some money from the beach boys and still gets some royalties today. The band itself did not make money from the sale of its records as it got screwed from its manager.

I forgot everyone else besides me doesn't exceed the speed limit...especially in a new car...hell why even by another generation vette because 90mph is 90mph. Might as well buy a Prius.

I could just get a new Mustang! I never really notice them myself unless they have a huge fart can hanging off the back. LOL

I''ve had one of the first C4-5&6's in our area and yes, the attention you get is sometimes a bit much. I actually experienced the most with my '84 when I drove it to a Corvette show a few days after taking delivery in early May of '83. If the C7's arrive late enough in the Fall the local show season will be over and most of the driving as well. I hope that's not the case...I'm first on the list at a dealer, but with color/option constraints always a potential issue at startup who knows?

Yeah I get UNWANTED attention usually by the police force.

The key is to try not to make it too obvious that you are isolating your car.

Exactly correct. End space and angle in such a way it would be further in the area their car doors will open. Or, next to a vehicle you know, for whatever reason, will be there longer than you. Some "people" will be more attracted to damaging a vehicle they can see the owner is trying to protect. Gotta protect it in a non-obvious manner and then don't give it another thought. Otherwise it will ruin your fun with your car.

If you ignore them, they will ignore you. Been there with
previous new model vettes. Works just fine.

I have not always had your luck. With my '85 parked in a regular spot in the middle of a grocery store parking lot I came out to find a beater parked about 1 inch from my driver's door. In my 2007 VY coupe I found black magic marker grafitti on the rear fascia. Fortunately Goof Off took it right off w/o damaging paint.

About a Decade ago I pre-ordered and got one of the first Nissan 350Zs in the country. Questions and thumbs up where ever I went.

But the best day with my new 350Z was when a car full of young girls pulled up next to me, lifted their shirts and invited me to a party.

If they are gawking at your car from behind it, they will indeed ask you about your Camero

They are vette and car fans. I'm happy to chat with them and answer their questions. Had a guy at Starbucks the other day ask me if my Z was as fast as it looks. I told him absolutely it was and gave him some examples. Everyone asks questions. My insurance agent peppered me with questions when I was updating my coverage.

Usually I park it so that it's practically hugging the curb of one of those little island things that have the trees in the middle of them.

I might just have to start parking next to other cars though. The attention of the bad sort my C4 gets is bad enough. The New Vette will probably only be worse!

2010 TR GS vert with silver stripes has prepared me, unfortunately, I expect it will be plus April 2014 before my C7 Z51 vert arrives!

Believe me, I don't want a car full of girls of my age lifting their shirts.

I'm still amazed at the attention I get in my 6 year old '07 Coupe. While its never anything outrageous.. I've had my shares of waves, thumbs up, nice car shouts.. and the occassional picture taking.

These cars make you feel like a million bucks, while only spending a tiny fraction of that. And at the end of the day thats what really sets the Corvette apart from everything else. You get tons more bang for the buck, than any of its competitors. You can buy "more" car than the Vette.. you will spend ALOT more money to beat it.
