Default Are you prepared for all the attention?

You do realize when you get your C7 you will be bombarded with praise, awe, questions, picture requests, and on and on. You'll experience what movie and rock stars go through in life...it can get old quickly....not to mention the jealousy and possible hatred with its risks...just sayin'...maybe start preparing psychologically now. How will you handle all the attention? What are you going to do when you step out of Home Depot and encounter a crowd around your ride? I don't think I could ever let it out of my sight!

I'm not worried about the attention so much as the people that will go out of there way to park next to it despite the fact I've parked all the way towards the end of the parking lot and there are no less than forty open spaces between my car and the door, while driving 3 colored cars or worse. 3 colored cars that have a dent on every panel.

I get all that now when I show up at the Golden Corral for the Early Bird Special wearing a new T-shirt.

I recommend a car cover. Fiberglass body, and a thick Evolution 4 car cover pretty much solves that issue.

I'm planning for my first ticket in it... I am sure I will get tagged with the "Super Speeder" law or arrest for excessive speeding

Yep, physics dictates that 90 MPH in a C7 is faster then 90 MPH in a C6.

Same issue with my '05'. Most fun year I owned it. Still a great car.

Played bass for the opening act in the first ever great lawn concert in central park in 1973 called 'saturday in the park' 30 famous oldies acts but at the time they weren't that old. 100,000 people. I don't think any body here can beat that for attention. I was on every news outlet at 6pm every news paper you name it. Driving a c7 would be no big deal. It's something i will cherish forever.

I would have loved to have been there. The 50's music was(still is) great(and really not that old in 1973).

At the time i used to play bass for the Regents(the opening act) who did the original version of 'barbara ann'. At that concert there was Chubby Checker. 5 Satins. Del Vikings. Jay and the Americans, all those popular 60's bands that are now refereed to as 'oldies'. Don't forget most of all those guys just sang they used to hire musicians where ever they played. I played steady with the regents for two years in the n.y, area in that time. Of course i had nothing to do with the original recording as i must have been what a couple of years old when that came out. When they had a gig they called my band and we went and backed them up.

Very interesting. Was the writer of "Barbara Ann" a Regent and did he make (and still make) a lot of $$$ when the Beachboys had a hit with it?
