I ordered my C7 from Mike at Crisswell Chevrolet in Maryland. They are number three in sales. That means they get Corvettes. Check with your dealer and ask him what his allotment is before you place an order.

No dealer will know how many allocations they will get ahead of time. True, high volume dealers get more allocations than low volume dealers. It's really dependent upon production volumes, isn't it? And it will depend where in line you are with respect to all other pre-orders.

True...but in line with low allotment and a buyer with a much higher number with a high allotment dealer gets his car first. Can not change that. Allotment is related to how many Corvettes they have sold in the past.

I don't see what the fuss is about. Being number one on the list at a small volume dealer has worked out great for me so far.

The thing about the large volume dealers is that they commonly have larger wait lists.

I ain't worried. I'm patient. If it takes a year or so, so be it. I'll tough it out with my lowly C6, which isn't the worst thing in the world.

Just as long as they don't want full payment at order time, only to find out that your production won't be done for 8-12 months!

Had mine out again today, it is a great car. It was 23 degrees, I'm ready for summer.

Many early 2010 Camaro buyers got cars ahead of those who had put down deposits and had their name on lists, in some cases for two years.

By way of sheer dealer incompetence, lack of concern, or simply taking the first buyers' money who showed up without regard to the lists, a lot of those early deposit leavers watched people drive off ahead of them.
The same thing will happen here.

By the time I'm ready to buy one they'll be discounting them.

I agree about the list vs allocation. I was number one on the list at my local dealer for a Camaro ZL1 convertible. They still have not received one. I gave up in July and got my deposit back and bought a 2013 427 convertible from Kerbeck.
