C7 at Chicago Auto Show
The feared Camaro effect of the tail lights is not at all an issue in real life. They look unique and fit well with the overall design, IMO. http://andyseipos.com/p590629760/h54e5658e#h54e5658e
Pictures from the show: http://andyseipos.com/p590629760
Kirk Bennion, exterior design mgr, measuring ride height: http://andyseipos.com/p590629760/h54e564e6#h54e564e6 I yelled at him "So Kirk, are you planning to lower it further?" He saw me and said something I couldn't hear over the crowd noise and he went back to measuring. Harlan Charles was nearby. Tadge was nowhere to be seen...maybe I scared him off?

I also went to the show yesterday. The Corvette always had a crowd around it and I did not see that throughout the rest of the show. Have some pics that I hope to post. It is clearly recognizable as a Corvette and yet it is a thoroughly modern design. There is no way, IMO, round lights have a place on this car. The rest of the car has complex and subtle contours. The tail lamps reflect that complexity. It looks like the kind of vehicle you would enjoy washing and waxing to feel the complexity of the lines. It appears shorter and more compact than the C6 although it is not. It's also lower.
The interior looks great from my vantage point. Certainly Chevrolet has raised it's game on interiors because I was impressed by the new Impala as well. So Andy, I'm w you. I would seriously consider trading in my
92 ZR-1 for the C7 although I would lament the loss of the
32V DOHC Lotus.

Thanks for the pics.
General question for all:
Since the C7 model was at the Detroit and Chicago auto shows, can I ASSUME there will be one at the Atlanta auto show in mid-March?

I couldn't agree more, at first I wasn't thrilled with them but once you see the styling cues of the rest of the car the round lights would not work in my opinion and as stated 99% of the people I heard talking about the car luv it the way it is, on this forum you would sometimes think 75% of the members dislike the car but I think it is more than likely a very vocal minority.
I looked at the rear views of all the cars I took photo's of at the show, the R8, Viper, Lexus LFA, Mercedes Concept vehicle, viper, as well as super cars such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lambo etc. and none of the cars really "Wow You" , really take a hard long look at some of these cars and tell me that any of them have great back ends, they are either much busier than the vette or too futuristic or too plain.

I flew up from Austin, TX to see the car in person. Although I was skeptical about the tail lights before seeing the car in person, once I saw it it became clear that the new lights fit with the overall design and that round lights would have looked out of place on the car. I was quite pleased with the car with only one exception. That is the uniform black color of the numerous vents on the car. I felt that the contrasting color (at least on the red car) detracted from the flow of the lines of the car and cheapened its appearance.

Very high quailty pictures.......... next best thing to being there
I wonder what possessed the designer of the 67 concept Camaro to put 68-69 Plymouth hood bulges on it?

We can only hope, but I think not. It will be in NYC in March. Considering Serial Number 1 went to one of Atlanta's largest Corvette dealers it's a shame.
