Influenced me to get a C6.

I am picking up a 2013 GS at a great price (MSRP 61.9, final cost after discounts, customer cash, and corvette loyalty 48.4). Will hold that for 3 years then see what the 2016 C7 is like or look at a used 2014.
I figure by then there will be some rebates and the dealers will honor the supplier pricing. I'm not one to pay retail.

Yeah, it has. I'm just not sure I want to shell out the bucks for it. I still don't like the interior, I don't like the big vent on the hood, I don't like the tacky bolt-on spoiler in the back and I don't like the black valance.
I do like the side view. It's very nice there. But I don't know if that's enough.
Now I'm thinking for retirement, a nice C3...maybe a C2 if I can find one I can afford.

But, for me it's just a toy to play with on the weekends anyway. The only real ... concern, is taking something like a C2/C3 on a long, interstate trip. Ride, cargo capacity and reliability is really more my concern.

I had planned to buy a Corvette before Summer, either a low mileage 2011 (Jet Stream Blue) or a new 2012 (Carlisle Blue) . However, that plan changed after last month's reveal. Now I want the 2014 in beautiful Laguna Blue. I prefer the modern, exotic styling of the new Stingray. This will be my first Corvette!

The new vette has changed my buying decision. I was planning on picking the latest viper in a few years (used) in that gorgeous Stryker red. Well that paint job is a $14.6k option!!!! Couldn't really drive the car unless it was completely wrapped. It would have to more of a garage queen that my current Z-oh.
So then, I'm planning to wait for the performance model Vette, and pick one up used with about 5k on the odometer and 30% off the sticker.... Just like I did with my current vette. Although I will say the back end looks horrible and the interior was styling is off balance. It's like they designed the driver side, quit, and 1 day before the reveal said, "Oh s#!t - we forgot there was a passenger side!!! Somebody slap something together quick!!!!" The materials / seats may be better, but the style in general is all effed up. The different sized vents look so awkward - and the way the dash panel slants at at that weird angle and the wraps around to the door is just ridiculous!!!
Done ranting. I complain but I'll still buy one. Used. No way would I ever purchase a new GM car.
