Except for being squared off on the sides, having a completely different lower fascia, taillights that are only somewhat shaped like the Camaro's, center-exit quad exhaust tips and a completely different license plate location and surround...yeah...the rear looks just like a 5th gen Camaro.

Basically the same split.. except to scale. The Camaro is a tank in comparison.

I was going to say that. The Corvette always had those dual tail lights except for the first generation. The Camaro usually didn't, so I'd say the Camaro copied the Vette more then the vette copied the Camaro. Personally, I think round tail lights would look somewhat out of place on the new vette with all it's sharp angles
But the other day I was driving and saw a Black Camaro from the rear about 100 yards away in a parking lot and for a second I was like is that a C7?
Then I was like, "O" its a Camaro.
The current Camaro is still a Eye catcher even if its not what I would buy.
Thanks for pics OP

Scraping the splitter.
It really illustrates the differences.
Funny story...I took my wife's car to the dealer for service a few weeks ago. I was walking around the lot and the dealer had a '12 ZL1 Camaro and a '10 Z06 in their used car section parked next to each other. As you said...the Camaro looked like a damn SUV parked next to the Corvette.

I like this one better than the one I posted.

C7 mule parked alongside the Camaro, a few months ago? That had
us all convinced that the C7 would weigh in at 3000 lbs.

Ever see a Gen 4 F body next to a Fatmaro? Nothing quite highlights just how obese the Gen 5 is, than parking it's predecessor right next to it.
The C7 looks like a friggin sex machine next to the Fatmaro. It's sleek, chisled, styled aggressively... while the Camaro.......it's a tank. Serviceable, Safe, Neo Retro Garbage.

The Camaro concept car was out in 2006ish, I am sure the new Vett rear was not finished till 2011-12. It doesn't matter it it lookls like todays Camaro, but will it look like the 2015 Camaro? The 2015 Camaro will shadow the Stingray most of it's production life.
I think the question to ask is what does the 2015 Camaro look like? http://www.camaroperformers.com/conc.../photo_01.htmlthis picture may FREEK YOU OLD FARTS OUT
O MY GOD IT HAS CORVETTE WHEELS

I really like this car in black. Sinister is the word that comes to mind, but I would not go with the black wheels. I would black out the reflectors on the back and on the wheel wells. Really the only thing about this design that I would like to see different are the rear quarter windows. I think it would look better if it were just body panel there, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.

Blue, Torch red, or yellow for me. The black looks good. I'm just not a black owner. The dust and micro scratches would drive me crazy.
My opinion on the back end of the car is that the tail lights are about the only thing they did right. The rear spoiler is cool too. That lower valance panel is not good. I predict you'll see some aftermarket CF and fiberglass designs out soon. Unfortunately, you can't do much about the straight line (boring) between the lower valance and the upper portion without replacing the whole piece.

Eventually, they'll realize that many do not like the new car (which happens to every car) and will get on with life and their C7 purchase.
Looks like the cars have made it to a hotel in Palm Springs from these pics - so they are en route to L.A. / petersen. I think it is in really poor taste for GM to be parading cars around with parts missing. Definitely unprofessional and un-prepared. Wierd.

Even at the auto shows they constantly have to wipe black cars down down... and that's indoors!
