I have one of each. In 2007+ the manual top was not available in the 3LT+ trim level.

Power convertible tops were an option on the Corvette from 1956-1962. Not available again until the C6 in 2005, 2006 as a seperate option. 2007 to 2013 the power Convertible top came with the 3LT option pkg.

Don't jump off the roof yet...

If memory serves:
2005/2006: Power top was a stand alone option

2007/2008/2009: Power top was part of the 3LT package, 2LT was manual (I had a 2008 2LT convertible)

2010-2013: Power top is part of 2LT/3LT/4LT packages. Starting in 2010 (I think it was), there was a 1LT convertible (with a manual top), prior to this, 2LT was the lowest trim level on the convertible.

I may not have the years exactly right but this was the power top progression on the C6

Jimmy

PS. I believe all C7 convertibles will have power tops.

I agree as I heard Tadge say the roof can now be raised and lowered with the FOB. That tells me that the roof latches/unlatches electrically.

I understand from the Geneva unvailing video that the top can be lowered at 50KPH, that could be interesting

(sarcasim now) Sigh - yet another Corvette tradition gone away.......
It may have something to do with the gm claim that the top can be raised or lowered at 50 kph. The C6 tonneau would be ripped off it's hinges at that speed. If I owned one I doubt I would give it a try, though. It's got to be hard on the top's hydraulics (assuming they are still using hydraulic actuators).

I wouldn't try that either..although I have done that with my '05 at under 10 mph.

Did anyone else notice the air vents on the top part of the rear quarter panel aren't present on the convertible?

No rear fender vents...the rumor is that the cooling air comes up from bottom.

Yeah - waaaaaaaaay back when as a kid I had a "63 1/2 Falcon Sprint convertible with a power top. Tried putting it down - once - while driving at about 30 mph. BIG mistake! Torqued the whole top frame - had to disassemble, straighten, and reassemble. No interlocks or electronic nannies on that one.

D@mn stupid kid.....................

I did it in once in slow traffic as a rainstorm suddenly came up and there was no place to pull over. You do have to pull the e-brake up one notch to operate it though.

And the manual top was standard equipment way back when on the 1956 Corvette with the power top as an option and my 56 originally was built with the power top.

Power top on the C7 is retro..........

I'd bet yes. I think the windows will go down when you use the key fob to put it down and up when you put the top back up with the fob. It would be so easy to incorporate it would be silly not to have that feature.

Funny thing is I can put my top up and down faster than the mechanical way and it weighs less and less things can go wrong, oh well, onward and upward.

And I'll bet that's why the clam shell operates differently, so it doesn't catch as much wind.
