Chevy Dealers Local
Called two local Chevy dealers today to inquire about ordering a 2014 C7 Corvette
1. We wont' have any C7's but you can buy a new Stingray for 12,000 over sticker!!
2. You can order a 2014 C7 today and take delivery May 31st. I told the salesman I think the first build will be July 1st 2013. He assured me he could have a new 2014 Corvette here for sure by Memorial Day!!!

Unless this is someone's first Corvette, I don't understand why people don't have an existing relationship with a dealer (whether it's forum or local) to get one without going through all the BS...

#2 The salesman was trying to order your C6 maybe?!?! Perhaps they were thinking about another car? Perhaps it was the janitor trying to help!

Corvette couple I was having dinner with last night bought a couple of new Chevy vans for their business from a local dealer recently.
The salesman told the couple, who have a 2012 GS, that they (the dealer) have 27 2014 C7's on order and have 12 of them already pre sold to local folks.
Take that bit of news for what it's worth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will be my first Corvette. I'm gonna have to find a dealership that knows their stuff and won't keep giving me the run-around. My co-worker that recently passed has been getting Vettes all his life, all from Kerbeck. He recommended them strongly.

Reliable Chevrolet? If so, I might actually believe that (at least the pre-sold part).

"In honor of jpee"
Seems to me the only way any car could be pre-sold is if ALL the money has been collected. Anything less, and it's usually a refundable deposit. And between a deposit and "sold" there are/is a lot of what's called fallout, or someone changing their mind.

Say will come in, sign a paper guarantee that date. If not they
will pay a penalty too you for every day after that till comes in.
Salesmen are morons especially corvette ones. Your still dealing
with chevy mindsets. AND they want the car to be upscale.
Or don't let the brainless kids even talk about a corvette sale.

Those of you that buy your vette from a not so local dealership, how to you get your vette home? You get it delivered or you drive the car all the way back? In my case, Kerbeck is about a 2 and a half hour drive from me, about 150 miles if my memory serves. I don't mind driving that distance, but driving back in a brand new Corvette that I don't want to get a scratch or a rock chip on before I even get it home, would be a bit nerve wracking. That and I know highway cruising at a high speed, constant RPM and speed isn't good for a brand new car that hasn't broken in yet.

I'm 2 hours from Kerbeck, I just drove them both home. Whether it's day 1 or day 100 of ownership, you're going to drive on a highway at some point, don't sweat it. When I bought my '04 Z16, it rained the entire drive home, the car survived

That's were I'd like to buy my first Corvette from. Only thing that has me hesitant is the distance.

One of my friends, when he buys a new car a fair distance from his home, always maps out a "road trip" so he hits some good backroads and nice food stops.
I bought my '92 Z07/6-speed from a dealer 3 hours from my home. One of my road trip buddies drove me down there and we caravanned back home. You can vary the speed. Ten miles at 65 in fourth gear, ten miles at 70 in sixth gear, etc.
I bought my '09 Z06 from a dealer 3-1/2 hours from home. Went down with my Tahoe/trailer and hauled it home.
But I like the museum delivery suggestion, buying from one of the loyal forum supporters, the best!
