You are correct. The current convertible 427 C6 does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds.

Althought GM won't reveal any hp figures, they guarantee it'll get to 60 in LESS THAN 4 seconds. That means 3.9 seconds at MOST.

Same weight as LS7 powered vette, same 0-60. Translation: 500 hp minimum for the LT1.

I've said it before. Nobody listens.

Back to your bitching about the hp figures now - heads back into sand.

I think GM is banking on that, selling a few Z28s to would-be C7 buyers to "hold them over" until the higher end C7 comes out.

Baller!!! How much did you pay exactly for the C7 and Z28 since they are not realeased to the public yet?

And thank you Ford for making the Boss and forcing Chevy's hand

That 7:38 was from the German magazine Sport Auto's supertest:
http://www.sportauto.de/supertest/co...l-1415542.html

In their test of the F430 Scuderia, editor Horst von Saurma describes his method:
  • 2 laps done during the tourist session for acclimatization and photoshooting
  • 3 timed laps later on the closed course
According to discussions on various forums involving people close to Sport Auto, it's really only 2 flying timed laps, as the first is for getting the tires and brakes up to temperature, and probing the limits of the car. The 3 laps is for the benefit of brakes and tires; some cars fall off rapidly on the Nordschleife as each lap is very long. The general consensus is that von Saurma always leaves a little bit on the table. Pro racing driver Sascha Bert later drove that same Ferrari 458 with a passenger on board, over the full 20.8km circuit, 6 seconds faster than von Saurma.

Sport Auto's procedure is very different from a GM engineer who spends hours upon hours getting to know the car. That time was for the ZR1 on PS2 tires. Not the latest ZR1 with aero revisions, better gearing, and the Cup tires.

Are we seriously having this discussion? Does anyone really believe that a ZL1 is faster than a ZR1 stock vs stock?

Doesn't GM also quote the GS has having 0-60 of 3.95 seconds?

Same weight as LS3 powered vette, same 0-60. Translation: 436hp minimum for the LT1
