No!
What was particularly interesting to me is that these new 285's have the same thread width as the 295 and over 1" more then the old Z51 tires.

SuperSports are great tires, I've tried them at the track and put them on my wife's car and on my street wheels.
They last very long and offer good grip, but not R rated grip like Nittos or Michelins Sportcup tire.

The C5 Z06 didn't come with ZP. And the same Super Sport tire comes in at 24lb for a Ferrari. A few pounds will have to go on in a ZP, but, the 20" really have small side walls so a really marginal amount. And those side walls should really help tighten up the handling.

Though that may or may not hold true for the ZP versions ???

Wait, are you saying the C7 with Z51 does NOT come with zero pressure tires? That doesn't seem to jive with the order guide. I would certainly love it if it didn't come with run flats, I detest the things. It's my biggest gripe on my ZR1.

Anyway, there should just be a few added pounds.

Should be Groundbreaking!
The MICHELIN Pilot Super Sport ZP tire also features the next-generation of racetrack-born tread compounds found in the record-setting Pilot Sport Cup ZP of the C6 ZR1 and Z06. Unlike the MICHELIN tire fitted to the standard 2014 Corvette Stingray, the Z51 tire features a custom dual-tread compound and pattern that achieves near-racing-slick grip and handling levels, while providing longer tread life and wet handling capabilities.

State of the Art!
And just like the GTR doesn't have an AWD off mode. PTM and Throttle Blipping can make hauling *** less labor and skill intensive!

And let us not forget!
Many of the C6.R’s cabin controls and switches—including the car-to-pit radio, windshield wipers, lights, traction control,

The race car uses traction control. Skilled in the street cars drivers don't need it with the Cup tires. Therefore deductive logic yields there is a lot to play with in a lesser? Vette.
I'm sticking with the 7:26 on E85!

boy tires have improved. back in 2001 when we had the 220utqg goodyear supercar. now that tire will be outdone by a 300utqg michelin pss today. a tire that not only performs better, it lasts longer!
and honestly. i think what are considered hard sport tires like the bridgestone 760 {utqg 340} are equal to the old supercar and with better rain performance
tire tech has been advancing at a similar pace to CPU's the past 20 years

The problem is that there are no other varieties of tires for added grip in the z51 sizes. I fully plan on tracking this car like I currently do with my centennial however there is nothing other than the Pirelli corsa which is a 60 wear in these crazy 20x10 rims. If I'm not mistaken, there isn't a slick yet developed for this size? Hoosier nor BFG have them...
New tech or not, a 300 wear is way to hard for a track day car.

Again the C6R race team uses TC and electronic shifting. Use the C7s electronics and focus on aiming the cars line is the way I understand it. If you want overkill tires and number handling stick with your Centennial for now.
