Beautiful woman.
He is a singularly homely dude.
Good for him she can look past that.

Who are they? How do you know those people are even in the market for a new Porsche? How do you know they don't already have a modern Porsche and a C6 in the garage? All I can derive from that picture is that that female passenger seems to have taken better care of herself than this one here:
By your caption, you seem to be implying that those guys won't even be in a C7. Is it your assertion that they are not going to be in a C7 because they feel GM has built a Porsche clone/imitator?
I did not "forget" at all.
Are you trying to draw a meaningful conclusion about people's buying habits or their attitude toward a brand based on how they look? Which one of these guys is a Corvette guy? Which is a Porsche guy? (No, the one on the right is not kd Lang.)

Nor her.

For a "wrist slapper," he sure seems to get plenty of action. And has the typical wrist slapper interest in cars and NASCAR.
No, that's not Snoop Dog.
"Cc: So you’re getting a Z06 then, right?
AB: Yes. Machine Silver as soon as they can get it to me."
"I have a Corvette and I got to go to the factory in Detroit where GM let me help build the engine with a technician. I signed it 'Adrien's Killer Vette', and I drew a skull and crossbones in metallic marker. It was pretty exciting."
To answer the question, guy on the left was Magnus Walker, who has a collection of Porsches.
Leno likes Porsches and even has a couple. Does that make him a "status seeker" and not a real car guy? Seems that Joe doesn't want to answer the question about his caption because he knows it makes absolutely no sense in this thread, nor did the picture of the 4x4 Corvette. Unless it was his intent to show that there are crossovers in demographics: There are people who would take their 4x4 Corvette in the mud, and there are those who would take Porsches offroad too. Both are extremes of demographics which have no bearing on the market segment that GM is targeting. Stereotyping people based on their looks not only has no bearing either, but has shown to be faulty in this thread. GM just might realize that not all car fans are so compartmentalized, so tribal, even if there is a segment on CF that is and can't see past that.

Well done Guibo.
I had no idea who that Magnus (great name, btw) chap was. I bet he and Leno enjoyed a couple cold ones while they talked cars at Leno's garage.
I bet he'd be a great guy with whom to have a cold one (or three) and talk cars.

2) GM does not have to target the entire Porsche community to win conquest sales. (See your earlier failed logic in suggesting that GM would have to win all Porsche sports car buyers for any given month in order to hit their target.)
My point was that just as there are extreme Vette fans who might offroad their cars, there are also extreme Porsche fans who would offroad theirs too (ie, there is some crossover there). Secondly, you cannot necessarily tell anything about a buyer's potential inclusion into a target demographic just by the way he looks.

There are more and more cars that are giving corvette a run for the performance and handling title.
After watching the last Lemans series race at Long Beach recently it appears in addition to Porsche the Corvette is now having a problem competing with the BMW Z4 and SRT Viper that have both just started to compete and are already at the top of the podium.
The C7 really needs to step up their handling to stay competitive.
Race results from a couple of weeks ago:
Long Beach Results
1. #55 BMW Z4 GTE (Auberlin/Martín)
2. #56 BMW Z4 GTE (D. Muller/Hand)
3. #91 SRT Viper GTS-R (Farnbacher/Goossens)
4. #4 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R (Gavin/Milner)
5. #3 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R (Magnussen/Garcia)

That was an entertaining post, Guibo. for effort on your part, although Joe probably wasn't taking the argument seriously.

You've gotta own and drive Porsche to understand the love for the brand.
I just came over to my 3rd Vette after driving P-cars for the last 14 years...
C7 pushed me over.

I was a porsche guy period. The C7 did woo me away from Porsche. I was fixing to pull the trigger on a 04' 911 turbo S for $52k. It made more sense to get a new vette with warranty. Plus I loved the looks of the yellow one.

I've been a Porsche fan since I was a kid. In 2013 I bought an '09 911 Carrera. Loved it, especially on track days. But I did miss the raw power that my 2010 Camaro 2SS had. I was about to buy a 2015 Cayman S, and when that deal fell through, I bought my 2015 Z51 C7 almost on a whim, and without a test drive as mentioned in another post. I thought I would miss the Porsche at least for a little while, but I'm absolutely ecstatic over my Vette. It is just a joy to own and drive on so many levels.
