How many of you have seen the new C7 Stingray?

The C7 looks like an ultramodern Corvette from the front. And it looks like a Camaro with a Celica GT Liftback on it from the back.
I can't believe GM is actually putting that back end into production.https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ilies/ack2.gif

Saw at NYIAS. Really sharp. Really makes the C6 (great car, had a Z06) seem dated/plain, yet it is not over the top. I'd like to wait and see what they do for a Z06/ZR1..

Mike when you do the drive please try to differenciate for us what your impressions are with the Z51 and stock car if possible.
For me I'd sure like to have a better touring car but get on the track occasionally. Yes I'd like the Z51 option but not to the detriment of a less civil cruizer.
Your impressions and advice will be very important to us because I assume many of us will be ordering w/o a test drive.
I'm off to Bowling Green to select a color and sit in it the end of June but that's the best exposure I can expect.
Thanks

I will keep every one informed of my thoughts as I have driven other generation pre production Corvettes over the last 35 yrs...but I believe this will be over the top unbelievable.

"In honor of jpee"
I can only say from seeing the car (not sitting in it, or even getting close to driving it!) and listening to what the experts have to say at that Bash, Mike is on the right track. This is going to be a quantum-leap car to drive compared to what's currently available. If you just recall all the various changes, additions, and differences in the car, it can only be very exciting and very different.
I can hardly wait to read and hear "the review!"

And a definite show stopper.
I'm guessing quite a few other die hard Corvette fans feel the same way, no matter how much we may be censored or berated for it on this forum.

Safety Car
I guess. But as someone who already owns five Corvettes and was looking forward to buying one new in a couple of years, complete with the trip to the factory, that back end is a huge disappointment.

About 20 of you based on the various polls here... I do understand the disappointment when a car you want to like doesn't suit your taste but it is what it is at this point.

Melting Slicks
When I first saw the car in Detroit I was disappointed but I never stopped studying the lines, etc. Some may say the car is polarizing and I think this is true. Just lately I am finding it more intriguing by the day.
I find it weird that I am not quite in love with it yet I can't stop looking at it. I keep getting drawn to that strake along the side and the back facia . The same design elements that turned me off are drawing me back in...

I saw it also at the April Bash in BWG. Impressive.
Here are all the photos I took while I was there. I also saw (but did not get a photo) of a truck load leaving the factory!

2020 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified
I finally saw one (actually two) today. The rear of the car looks much better in the flesh and this is the first generation since the C3 that I have liked immediately. It took a year after intro for the C4,5,6 to appeal to me. I see a new C7 in my future once a high performance variant is built.

Here in Central Pennsylvania I must wait for Carlisle to see the actual car. Currently my thoughts on the design are: Front, unsure about the chrome strip on the grill. Rear end, Corvette script clutters up the center area, I would suggest locating it like the C6. I reserve final judgment until I see it in person.

Saw a green one at Texas Motor Speedway yesterday. Gorgeous. Don't think the spoiler fits and not a fan of the lower black treatment on the rear, but otherwise absolutely beautiful. Hood treatment and lights are truly spectacular, as is the interior-- the instrument hood looks like a manta ray and flows beautifully. It's a nice evolutionary design but didn't make me want to part with my C6 just yet, but really looks awesome.
