How many of you have seen the new C7 2014 Stingray in person? The Stingray is stunning from every angle. I will be lucky enough to drive it in September at Spring Mountain Race Track and can't wait to see how it performs on the track with elevation changes and over 10 turns in 2 1/2 miles. I will report back to all!! I am sure GM will have several on display at the GM tent at Corvettes at Carlisle late August.

Mike, you are going to be blown away. The car is extremely quiet and feels really well planted. The aero changes are immediately apparent. I know you did something similar with the C6 so you will have a good basis for comparison. Be prepared, you will want one.

I was hoping you would respond...share some good pics as you took many at the Museum two weeks ago. Yes with the C6 I drove the C6 pre production models at Bob Bondurant in Phoenix and also at Virginia Inter. Raceway(August 2004). ..and then repeated the following August with the C6 Z06. Phenomenal experience.

Yup, I saw it at Amelia in early March. I had been an early critic of the rear end design - and still don't particularly care for it - but seeing the car in person definitely changed my overall opinion. The car has an energy, an attitude, that can't be conveyed from renderings and pictures alone. I particularly like it in the darker colors, as that tends to minimize the contrast of the black vents and rear diffuser, thus making the car look better integrated and the rear end smaller.
All in all, you HAVE to see it in person to be able to form a valid opinion.
In the last pic, see the gentleman in the background with his hand on his chin in a pensive pose? That's Ed Wellburn, Senior VP of GM for styling. Looks like he's contemplating something himself!

I agree Tux, the rear is a little better in person when you see the whole car. I saw the Red Z51 at Barett Jackson. I liked the red with the black wheels so maybe that had something to do with it. Then I see other pics and cringe.

Until I see it , I'm not interested.
Until I drive it in convertible format I'm not interested.
Until I figure out it's totally superior to my C-6 I'm not interested.

Saw it for the first time at Laguna Seca this weekend. I've always liked the design and couldn't figure out why the C6 guys were squawking so much. It is very dramatic in person and only gets better the more you study its surfaces and design intricacies.

"In honor of jpee"
probably odd to say this, but I've said it before: the more professional shots and initial car show shots didn't do it justice. it wasn't until the less professional, less "lit-up" shots started hitting pages that one (or at least, me) could get a real idea of what the car looked like. I also got an impression or feeling that something (like all the angles back there) were not translating from flat, head on pics of the tail light/rear end.
I was right because when I saw the car, it works. not everyone will like everything, but the overall design is new, edgy, different, purposeful.

Saw it yesterday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. A CG Z51 and the new production pilot #001 LB Pace car. I liked it from the pictures, loved it in person. Looks like a worthy successor to the c6. I will be in a TR Z51 vert!

Saw the two at Barrett-Jackson in Palm Beach. Walking across the hall and noticed the TR coupe first. By the time I got up to the car I had decided that there was finally a reason to move on from my '88 Plan to buy after the first of the year!!!
