The C7 to Shoot Right Out of the Box!?
The leaks indicate it is:
0-60 3.8s w/stick & eLSD! (larger torque control for the "other car" guys)
60-0 94' w/larger brakes!
0-60 3.8s w/stick & eLSD! (larger torque control for the "other car" guys)
60-0 94' w/larger brakes!

0 -60 at 3.8 does not surprise me at all.
Let's see... that would be 0.3 seconds quicker than the Jag F type supercharged V8 and $35,000 less (convertible to convertible that is -- the Vette coupe would be 40 grand less).
Sounds about right.
Actually, 3.8 for a car with a manual is darn good.

All jokes aside I would expect that 3.4sec to be right on point with DCT.
The McLaren MP4-12C does 0-60 in 3.1secs. That is about the closest RWD, DCT sports car with C7-like torque I can think of. Remember torque is what gets you off the line quickly. In addition to the 7spd DCT it also makes a 130 more hp, the 12C weighs atleast a 100lbs less than the C7.. all of which is why I still expect it to remain a 1/3 of a second quicker.

The Ferrari 458 on the other hand.. only has 400ft/lbs of torque and weighs about the same as the C7. So even with a 7spd DCT & 100 more hp than the C7.. it still takes 3.4secs to reach 60mph.

I'm still hoping for a C7 DCT announcement in 2014 or 2105.

Google it!
And the "other car" guys if they don't generalize up some more of their old crap will have to admit the C7 should be a lot closer to that 10/10 with the increased torque control! And the Corvette should still have its overall advantage!

IF this is true, 94' braking is stellar and will really help the car put up amazing track times!!! That is more exciting (if true) to me than the 3.8s 0-60.

in the base C7 you don't have to shift before 60mph?
I thought it was 55.8. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1582898707-post3.html

Why are you guys so preoccupied with 0-60 times ? Any sport bike like a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R will do that in 2.6 seconds for a lot less money.
