Default C7 in Annapolis

I know bigterpsfan posted several photos of the C7 Convertible in Annapolis already, but I just wanted to add this photo. I would have built upon his thread but I wanted to make sure everyone saw this. I didn't want it to get lost in that thread, hence the reason why I am creating a separate thread.

Keep in mind, I am not criticizing this car. I saw it today for the first time in person and it is beautiful. The lines and creases on the hood are terrific and the headlights look fantastic. The entire front of the car has a meaner and more aggressive look to it.

But this really struck me when I saw it on the seats. I am still trying to figure out how this happened. It happened on both the passenger and driver seat.

Oh, and yes, these seats are very, very comfortable. More comfortable than the C6 seats...yes. But would I call it a huge step forward? No. But they certainly look more sleek and appealing to the eye.

Anyway, here is the photo. How is this piece on the seat falling apart already on the car?

I suppose that's why they are pre-production cars - to check out all the parts and pieces and hopefully discover any poor designs or unacceptable parts from vendors - and get as many as possible corrected before customer units are made.

If they don't embroider them, I'd just as soon they didn't put anything on them at all.

Lets hope!!! I would hate to have one brand new and this happens two weeks after owning it.

Do believe 36/36 bumper/bumper would cover and they would have to come up with permanent solution for several good reasons.

I agree.
I also think a chromed piece of plastic has no place on the seats.

In desert climates you could identify C7 Corvette owners by the permanent brand on the back of their neck

True, but then you would have someone glue it back on and it would either be crooked or the glue would run over onto the seats or something silly like that.

Sorry, I hate being pessimistic. But it is things like this that happen, then the folks at the service centers can't fix it right or do a half-a$$ job. You're then left with either a new problem or something that just looks goofy. That has been my experience for the past 20 years with Chevrolet. It sucks too, because I really do love these cars, the way they look, and perform. Sigh.

Your right. C7 disqualified from further consideration, and I have been really, really trying to like it

That's a very good point. GM has a way of screwing up the simple stuff.
Like lots of others, the C7 has me giving GM a chance. My last GM vehicle ('08 Yukon Denali) was a piece of crap.

First, I doubt they would put plastic on the headrest on production cars. Most likely, someone tried to steal it.

Didnt anyone on the team even think about all the longish hair that could get entangled after leaning back against the seat ? Maybe thats how they got snapped off !

Yeah, it was probably Harlan Charles who got his hair caught in it.

Better yet, could you imagine being with your wife or favorite female friend and her hair gets caught in it. Then suddenly it comes flying off!!! Lol!!!

I took a quick look at the sales guide with pictures of the seats, and it looks like there's an emblem on the base seats.
The competition seats have it cleared into the CF section with the harness openings.

Time to give GM a break here.... When I go to the Chicago Auto Show I am always fascinated that the shifter ***** are missing on everything.... I spend an hour trying to get something like that off and kids seem to be able to get 'em off in seconds.

I suspect the car was a victim of a trinket hunter... Mercedes probably has a separate profit center dedicated to replacing stolen hood ornaments.

And yeah, I agree embroidered would be better.

Its a GM vehicle. I love my Vette, but they cut corners on every aspect of the car on the inside of the car. I have an 04 Nissan Maxima with 150,000 miles that is in better shape and has less rattles than my 08 with 50k. You are paying for engine and handling. Don't get me wrong, love my car, but a broken plastic piece in a Vette is pretty normal.
