Default Fay carbon fiber interior package

Can someone tell me what all is included in this package? Is it worth the $995?

The convertible had the Carbon fiber IP option at the Bash.

Real question is why doesn't this car have a D bottom steering wheel yet?

Because what would they do for 2015?

The carbon panel is well worth the $995 .Plenty of people including myself spent $400 just on the 08+ console for my car and that's faux carbon. Buy it now for $995 or buy not later through gm parts for $1500 (guess on msrp) plus labor.

Overlay? What do people think carbon fobre is? It is a very thin woven material you can have it in a flexible form or you can bind it with hardners. It is still very light and strong. How it can be defined as" overlay" I am not sure. I have a Simpson Carbon Fibre briefcase which the CF is laid over a thin metal base. May be overlaid but real carbon fibre and very cool.

It's not an overlay, but it's definitely a rip-off. $1000 for a tiny piece of CF? And GM has the tech to stamp those out for cheap now. I would pay $500 for it if it also extended down to the center console. But it doesn't. So it stops not even at the bottom of the center stack leaving you with two different materials on one panel. Looks cheap to me.

That is the beauty of an option. You do not need to buy it. I support your right to opinion.

If others buy it, I wouldn't tell them they made a bad choice. It just wasn't worth it to me. I just don't understand how GM justified the price.

You know, honestly, I almost called up the dealer to change my order and add it... I DO think it looks cool. I just have a hard time justifying the cost on it. I'm normally not froogle with money at all, but this one just kind of felt like I'd be getting taken. The car itself is an amazingly good deal, and I guess that's why I see that panel as a rip.

BUT, on the other hand, that panel would cost MORE than double if it came from Porsche. (Ask me how I know. )

Oh yeah! When I was ordering my car, that was the very first thing I told the dealer. 3LT with browstone. He said, "Hold on... We'll get to that. Do you want a Z51?" LOL

Not that this makes it better, necessarily, but $1,000 for essentially the full driver dash in CF is not expensive relative to other car manufacturers. For MB, a single strip of CF was a more expensive option It isn't cheap but it is comparable or less than what other companies would charge.

the price was a bit of a hesitation for me too, but I figured another grand on an already 70K plus price tag is no big deal and I'm sure I would have regretted it later if I had opted not to. I also ordered the vis cf roof.
