Default Has anyone seen the C7-R yet?

I've heard a lot of speculation and know that testing is set to begin in July, however, I can't wait to see the actual car!

No, but Doug Feehan said on Sunday the chassis is done and they will be 'wiring it up' in the next week or son and will begin testing in July. I don't recall seeing spy shots of the C6R's much before their debut, so I think it will be a long wait until Sebring.

That's too bad. I liked how Viper unveiled their ALMS car at the same time as the street car.

Well, they will certainly have it out before next season. I suspect you will see it soon, certainly at the big Corvette shindig @ Monterey in August.

Concerning the C6.R, the first known photos were taken at Road America in September, 2004 by a fireman working the test session for GM. The car used was C5R-012 bodied as a C6.R. Incredibly, the fireman was able to keep the shots secret until several months later. I agree that the first spy shots made public were Sebring winter testing, 2005.

Below - Road America Sept, 2004

Below - Sebring Jan, 2005

Below - Chris Draper's Forecast (I really hope they do something other than yellow - it's time to enhance the all new look of the 2014 StingRay.)

The C7.R will be yellow! a) Others race cars can see it more easily, reducing inadvertent collisions, b) In yellow it is so visible to the fans, those at the track and those on TV, and, c) Doug Feehan was involved and confirmed that it will be yellow earlier this Spring.

I can tell you with confidence, it will NOT ever not be yellow. Know why? Go watch ALMS and point to any other yellow car out there....there isn't one. Corvette owns yellow...has branded yellow...it's the only car in the series that's yellow...it looks great on tv, on magazine covers....it works.

If you don't believe me...well, believe Doug Fehan, because I just repeated the reasons he told me himself....and he's the mudda****** boss!

I can only hope they give it some super-wide fenders to cover that racing rubber like this (and then give us the same wide-body in a C7 Z06):

because of the merger of ALMS and Grand-Am, the first race (i think) will be the Daytona 24 and not Sebring.
