Ideas on the spoiler gaps....what are they for?

Safety Car
At the Bash talked with John Tosh (spelling?), C7 Body Manager, and asked him that question. He said the gaps were primarily to give water a place to exit from, that they were designed in and necessary, not a "workmanship issue."

Intended or not any gaps make it look like a bad fit.

In order for the gaps to be aerodnamic, the gaps woul have to be at least 1/2 inch and more likely 1 full inch. But by the time you get to 1 full inch you can change the spoiler into a wing.

It does look very bad.
I've noticed it ever since they first revealed the car. I hoped they would have fix it on the production cars. But looks like they are letting it pass.
It should be fixed.
No matter what they say is the reason why it looks like that, it still looks like a very bad fit. They really should fix it before the cars start going out to customers.

I have no idea what is going on with the yellow car in those pics but I don't see that kind of gap on any other picture!! Maybe it is just the way the black spoiler looks on the yellow car?

The yellow one obviously has a reflection of some sort making the bottom look darker than the rest of the spoiler.

The cars at bowling green mostly had the carbon flash spoilers and mirrors and IMHO they looked really great on the lighter cars especially the arctic white and blade silver
(arctic white car was over at the factory and seen on the streets around NCM, it was not on display) I didn't notice any gaps around the spoilers on the display cars at BG. In fact, the fit and finish was very good, seams were very small. When I mentioned that to one of the speakers, he said the fit on these cars are actually not very good compared to what we will have on the production cars.

I did not notice any gaps like that on the display cars at Bloomington Gold - they all looked great.

So water and dirt go under said gap, then what? Fall into the trunk and work its way out a drip tube? This is the only part of the car that bugs me. Come on Z06, one piece bumper with integrate spoilers!
