C7 vs. ZR1

The C7 appears impressive. However, the C6 ZR1 is going to be tough to out perform in all categories. I'm hoping for a C7 ZR1!!!

If this is remotely accurate, we may be in for plunging resale values!

your 'plunge' is a reality only due to the fact that it's just a car.........lousy investment so just enjoy them.

The numbers are great, but it's not close to ZR1 on track capabilities. You can see that from MotorTrend's figure 8 which uses all of cornering, weight transfer, braking, and acceleration attributes into account. It took 23.9 seconds to complete with the C7 (which takes 23.6 with Grand Sport as far as I know), which takes 22.8 seconds(!!) with the Z06 w/Z07!

I don't think the c7zr1 is going to be any (much) faster than the c6zr1: the difference will be what we saw with the new viper, a drivers race really.
Might be interested in a c7Zx because of a better interior but that back end is so ugly... it's like having a top model with rotting teath: looks awesome then she smiles and you go W T H!!!
I just can't get over it... at least on vid and pics... perhaps in real life it won't be as bad... It's that stupid droopy look due to the vent by the tail lights.... cut that off, move it elsewhere and it's much better!

My first chance to see a C7 was back in February at the Chicago Auto Show. For some reason I wasn't that impressed. Then in June at the Bloomington Gold event Chevy brought about 10 of them in various colors and options and a few roadsters. I got to touch, feel them and sit in them. They were nice! I really liked the looks. The tail lights were much better close up.
While at Spring Mountain in June I got to meet Ron Fellows. He spoke to our class and answered questions. Of course the C7 came up. He was a little vague on the topic particulars, but I believe he was involved in the track testing of the C7. He clearly had the opportunity to drive one out there post production. He was very impressed with the performance of the C7 on the track, but appeared to stop short of saying it was better that the ZR1 overall. Clearly, once Chevy introduces a higher performance model in a few years, us ZR1 owners will no longer be the Kings of the Hill.

We will still be kings of the hill if we buy one and I fully intend to..wow is the C7 Z going to be one heck of a performer if indeed it's called a Z car that is!!..I kind of like the L-88 name hope they bring it back..

I watched this video yesterday morning and the C7 Z51 is a very impressive car for sure. Will resale be hurt on the C6? Sure, but for most of us, we don't care that much. I certainly don't. I will keep driving and enjoying the heck out of my ZR1 until the C7 equivalent comes out and then I will probably trade in my C6 ZR1 for a C7 ZR1.
Until then, we still have the baddest Corvette ever made.

exactly what i was thinking, i still love the way C6 look over C7. its an opinion its not because i cant afford a C7 so i bash it! I fell in love with vette because of the C6 and now the ZR1. I honestly like the 3ZR ZR1 interior more than C7, beside seat but carravaggio took care of it. Of course one day, chevy will come up with something slighty better than a ZR1 not a WHOLE night and day better. I couldn't care less about not being the king of the hill anymore!!! I already beat some MUCH more expensive car than mine. IM just getting started!!!

Obviously the C6 ZR1 is a more high performance car than the C7. If the question is, would someone buy say a fully loaded C7 3LT Z51/MRSC or maybe pickup a nice hangar queen 2011/2012 ZR1 for not too much more than a list price C7, yeah some will go with the C7 cause it's the latest & greatest. The C6 is now yesterday's newspapers even though they are fabulous street supercars, especially the C6 ZR1. I have a 10 GS & I wouldn't consider anything but a C7 ( granted my GS has a LPE 650 Maggie supercharger package, but even if it was stock, I'd buy a C7 and not a C6 ZR1). That said, I'm waiting for the C7 Z06/ZR1 type ride.
