Default Is the C7 manual tranny the one my wife can drive? LOL

I really want a manual this time around, but the car has to be driveable for both of us. She has some arthritis in her hands, but I would guess the short throw shifter would help in this regard. Also, rev matching, does that play a part in ease of operation? Clutch pedal pressure too could be an issue? Any anecdotal info greatly appreciated, and will be used to convince her.

Never thought of it from that angle, but the rev match I bet would help with folks who aren't proficient at manual trans, and make it much easier for them to drive the manual.

If nothing else, it's a good excuse for you get a manual.

My wife is scared to death of my Vette and cannot drive a stick. I taught her to drive it once in a HUGE parking lot but she thought she was going to break it so that was that.

I will thus never own an automatic Corvette!

Clutch pedal pressure was very low for a C6 so I can't believe it would be worse for the C7. You don't have to be a gorilla to drive a manual Corvette unlike some other sports cars. Have your wife try a C6 manual and if she has no problems with it you should be good for the C7.

Wait until Chevy releases the rumored 8 speed "ZF" auto next year. You can have the best of both worlds.

My GF "can" drive a stick but doesn't like to. I think rev matching may help her.

But I worry more about the power. I would like a way to dial it to like 300hp for her. I think the high heels might be a problem.

And the stick is what keeps my wife from racking up all the miles on my 427.

Buy your wife the car she wants and then buy yourself the manual or wait for the 8 speed automatic if you really want to share.

I love my wife but she doesn't have to be able to drive my car.

If you were local I'd try and teach your wife on my car...usually takes a 10 minutes at most.

If she has a medical condition then either buy her ....her dream car first....or at least offer. Everyone should get what they want in life.

Even the husband.

Just my two cents.

Arthritis in the hand shouldn't be an issue but in the leg might be.

You sound like a good husband so offer her up her dream car first.

Who knows she may just say its not important to her and tell you to get the vette the way you like or you may end up with two cool rides and two happy people.
