Happened to me with my 99 Firehawk. Lost one side but saved the other .Made the mistake of leaving my windows down and not having the tops locked
Some jerk who was on a paving crew paving the road in the condo complex unlatched them while I was in the house and as soon as I accelerated to get on the freeway the passenger side flew off but I was able to grab the driver's side just as it was starting to lift. I wont be doing that with the new Vette. Expensive lesson learned.

I've had my car for 3 years now, not once, never, ever, have I driven with the roof latches un-done, how people can actually do this I have no idea.

I guess I'm old school but we all need to take some responsibility. The warnings for other things, door ajar etc. are already included probably because of legal issues. No harm in clouding the roof panels in my opinion.

Just double check the panel is firmly sealed by walking around the car a couple of times. I once assumed mine was seated properly when I locked the latches front and rear. Just for the hell of it I got out to check it and noticed the right rear was not sealed 100%. Unlatched it, got out and made sure it was sealed all around. Had I not checked it I would have been a member of the club.
