Default Dry Sump Oil Tank Location

Where is the Dry Sump Tank located on the C7?

One of the advantages of the Dry Sump system is that you can put the oil tank anywhere you want and lower the height of the engine and center of gravity of the car but since the base model isnt a dry sump Im guessing they didnt do that with the C7?

The oil stored in the remote reservoir has to have the discharge hose, located at the bottom, above the second stage oil pump as it is gravity fed, thus the reservoir has to be mounted fairly high. The engine placement in the Corvette is the same whether the engine has the dry sump or not as the depth of the oil pan is the same for both systems. The volume of the dry sump is less then the wet sump even though it is the same depth. The vertical placement of the engine is dictated by the diameter of the flywheel and both the wet sump an the dry sump use the same 14" diameter flywheel.

Talk about not answering a question...Joe, are you in politics or a lawyer...good job with the obfuscating. As to the ops question. I have not seen the car so I do not know where the dry sump is. I would guess similar to the C6 location.

Sorry, it's mounted in the same location as with the C6. At the rear of the engine compartment on the passenger side.

It wouldn't be to smart to put a fuse box over the sump seeing you have to fill it when you change the oil.
