Corvette Factory Tours for Buyers/R8C begin Sept 30, 2013
From the National Corvette Museum email today:
"Buyers Tours, R8C & Photo Albums Available
Mark your calendars for September 30, 2013 – because that’s the day the GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant will officially open their doors to Corvette customers participating in a Buyers Tour or R8C Delivery, and the Corvette Photo Album program will kick-off that day as well.
Customers are encouraged to go ahead and purchase a buyer’s tour and/or Photo Album if you are interested in watching your Corvette being built (or having the process documented with photographs). Upon purchase, the Museum will work with the plant to begin tracking your car. Should your car be built prior to the September 30 tour start date your money will be refunded.
At this time, these are the only three programs that will be given access to the plant. V.I.P. Tours, NCM Xperience and regular Plant Tour opening dates are to be announced at a later time.
If you are not familiar with our Delivery programs, please visit our website to learn more."

The Buyers Tour, appears to be different from the Museum Delivery option R8C, which includes a tour of the factory.
See:
http://www.corvettemuseum.org/ncm_delivery/index.shtml and
https://store.corvettemuseum.com/services/buyertour.asp
It looks like the Buyers Tour attempts to get your personalized tour of the factory on the day your vehicle is being built while the R8C option provides for a VIP Tour of the plant prior to your vehicle's delivery at the NCM.
Questions? Call the NCM for specific details

Still plenty to see in the USA. Enjoy your holiday in my country. Visiting NZ is on our bucket list. Maybe we will be down under someday?

If it's only a few days to a week or so, they usually have some lattitude for weather or other unexpected reasons to delay. Your car will just be parked inside probably w/stanchions around it. Look at it on webcam .
I'd call if and talk with them if you're only 5 days out and delay your delivery.

Actually this concerns me because I told my dealer and Shane at the museum that 9/30 is basically the only day I have to do my museum delivery and they both said should be no problem (at 3000). Coming from Nor Cal any other time becomes problematic.
