Le Mans Master
62 years young
Bought a 66 BB coupe in 78 and an 01 ZO6 in the fall of 2000
Couple of years ago I sold the 66 to a man in Germany and the ZO6 has been long gone.
Looking to get a C7 but am waiting to see what the news is coming from the Detroit show in Jan. about the next hi perf model

2015 C7 of Year Finalist
I think I am 51. Let me double-check. Yep (52 next month); it just doesn't feel like it though.
Hey, Don't get depressed over it. I am sure you can afford a Corvette, maybe not a 2014, but you can. Just don't go overpaying for one from a stealer dealer. Some dealers are honest and reasonable, but some are not. Shop around, research, negotiate. Timing is important as well.
If you buy smart, only the first one seems the most expensive to get. If you buy an older one in great condition, low-miles etc, and don't don't go crazy with mods and accessories, the car should maintain its value. In a year or two, if you save some additional money, you will be able to upgrade to a newer one, and so on. Before you know it, you'll be driving the Corvette model of your choice.
I bought my first at 25 (1984 model; slightly used with 900 miles on Odo). At 28, I was already on my third (1987). It's downhill from there, just like our ages. I am now buying my 10th, even though I went on hiatus for a while with 3 kids to raise.
Good luck.

It's interesting to see such a spread of ages, and to hear from some of the old-timers how they were getting their first ones around our age. Kinda feels like a tradition that's carrying on.
