I will point out that the E92 Controller in the Corvette (and others) allows for naturally aspirated, supercharged, single and twin turbo.

WTF are you guys talking about? It's SC cad pics have been around for awhile now from Keeks. Even the cad pics have the same wheels that they are testing in real life now. No TT's. It's been posted ALOT

Same wheels

Just like we knew what the C7 would look like over a year ago from Jalopnik..Oh and take the political **** out no one wants to here it we have a section for that.

...........
Actually, what we can surmise from the Keeks CAD is that a model will be supercharged.

That does not mean there will not be other models. If they exist, they could be naturally aspirated or turbocharged. We know for a fact that they have tested several configurations of engines in the C6 and C7. We do not know the leaked CAD model will be the final production configuration.

The Jalopnik pictures were supposed to be of the higher performance model.

For me, they can take the TT schtick and go elsewhere. I'd much prefer a roots-type supercharged V8, anyday. Had a car with a supercharger and not once in 70,000 miles did the car give me trouble before I sold it.

Yep, the new caddy is sporting a TT affair on the new 'E-Class killer' CTS-Sport (and yes that Elmiraj- which I would buy in a heartbeat has the TT V8); and while its cool for what it is, give me a system that doesn't mute the exhaust and doesn't require quite so much extra hardware for the C7. That would mean a supercharger.

If they decided to stick the 427 in there as a NA solution with over 500hp I wouldn't be disappointed, either. Please GM, no TT V8 on the 'Vette. Please. At least not on the "Z07"... please.

Positive displacement S/C is by far the best way to go if you want forced induction IMO, unless you want fuel economy, lag, and that "rush" of boost building. Good for a DD and good for Caddy as they need to compete with Europe in fuel economy. I prefer the throttle response of the S/C, and they can even be bypassed when not under boost so there isn't an economy hit under low throttle. Look at the ZR1's torque curve and it is pretty darn impressive. Sounds great, too, unlike many turbo applications. This would be good for a ZR1 equivalent.

I'd prefer N/A for a Z06 though. I keep saying 530 HP (base LT1 was 25 HP over LS3, so new LS7 equivalent is 25 HP over LS7) with 150 lbs weight loss. I bet GM could hit that 530 numbers with the LT1 if they just eliminated AFM and went to a more aggressive cam (is there room for slight increases in valve size).

I do think C&D is way off with their turbo and significantly smaller than 6.2 Liter thoughts.

Either way, I'm pretty excited to see what GM comes up with, although chances are very high I'll end up with a Z51 anyway.

My vote is for a supercharged system. Had one in my Shelby GT500 and it rocked!

Until then, still like my normal aspirated Vette better!

And...if the Z06 is FI...I'm getting the base car with the Z51 package instead.
