^^^ yup - every K&N post I've ever seen - I'll wait for Cold Air Inductions, Inc to come out with one..

Yeah, that's it... with a tune. Tell you what. Put a K&N filter in and tune it. Now, take the K&N out and put the stock filter back in with but with the new tune. I'd bet that the tune is going to get within a couple of hp with either filter. A filter itself simply isn't being taxed enough to make much difference. Give it colder air by moving the air intake out of the heat of the engine compartment then you start seeing more of an increase.

Scraping the splitter.
It's actually amazing that K&N thinks people are going to believe that dropping one of their oil-soaked air filters in the stock airbox is going to gain "15 and as much as 20 horsepower". Holy crap...

Does K & N really have better resources and engineering than GM? Is GM really incapable of designing an intake that could benefit the company by 15 hp and higher MPG? I don't think so.

You will probably get a few horsepower increase with the K&N filter because of less flow restriction but you will pay for that few horsepower with the damage you will do to your engine due to lower filtration efficiency allowing more dirt into the engine.

If having no filter doesn't even give you 10 bhp, how the hell do they think their filter will give 15-20. And which is it btw 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20? All the engines are identical. GMAFB.

Damage to the engine?
Gimme a break.
More hp? Minimal without a tune.
The Coyote 5.0 picks up 30+ whp with an intake and tune
