Giving some thought to moving on to the c7 convertible...currently have a 2011 grand sport cyber grey with 3lt and 3800 miles....dealer is offering 47k for the grand sport in trade...what are the experts thoughts?

You can also lower or raise it while driving at up to 30 MPH, to me that is real cool

Wow! I would jump on that, sir. Privately, you would have a problem getting that much or maybe a couple of thousands difference. You have already checked blue book value, right? In comparison, a friend of mine bought a brand new 2012 3Lt for $49,000 from Kerbeck.....discount of course. That should give you an idea

I have been excited about Vette all the way from C-1 to C-5 and totally lost interest in the C-7 so I don't know much about them. I do have the hots for a C-7. and am going to place an order as soon as the dealer lets me know he has an allotment.

If you're at all interested in getting a 7, I think the trade off you've received on your 6 is pretty good.
If the 7 doesn't trip your trigger, then keep the vert 6 - it's a cool roadster in its own right.

2 weeks ago I traded my 2012 GS Vert 4lt for a Cadillac XTS platinum in anticipation of a fast drop in value of the Vette when the C7 hits the streets. My dealer is going to order me a 2015 (no 2014 allocations). I was given 52k as a trade in with 17500 miles. I would say your dealer is making you a good offer and I would do it.
