Some C7s are going to Nashville for Quailty Review Before Shipment
I stopped at my dealership (Les Stanford Chevrolet) for an update and was handed the following memo. No one knows how many units and for how long.

Just received the below note from Corvette Marketing Manager, John Fitzpatrick. As you know, GM works exceeding hard to insure all GM vehicles adhere to very high quality standards. Therefore, a number of Corvettes will undergo one last inspection at the Nashville Railhead to insure quality expectations are met. Feel free to share the below note with your dealers.

As you are aware, we announced that we are shipping Corvette Stingray coupes to dealers. As part of the process, we have shipped a number of cars to the national rail head in Nashville, TN, for a final quality review of each car prior to being shipped to dealers. This final review is part of our standard procedures for a launch.
As we indicated in the press release, we have nearly a 1000 cars, and we are using facilities in Nashville to expedite the process. Once the review for each vehicle is completed the vehicle will be shipped directly from Nashville to the dealer. We do not have an estimate we can share on the amount of time a particular vehicle will spend in Nashville.
Please understand our number one priority is to deliver the greatest, highest quality Corvette Stingray -- to every dealer, to every customer, every time.

Sounds like they are making sure they got it right.
I wouldn't necessarily call that bad news.

I think I am stuck in QC hell with you. My car was shipped Nashville. The Chevy chat rep told me yesterday it was there for "upfitting", but your info seems more accurate.

Makes no sense why they were not fully cleared @ BG before being covered/shipped

Perhaps "quality review" is a euphemism for "upfitting", which may be a euphemism for "correction modification".

So maybe customer service was right about holding for QC?
Let the conspiracy theory start!
I think there might be a slight issue and since they are churning out cars and the lot is just about full they needed to clear them out to this "overflow lot"
Or maybe they just really want to QC them?

Yeah, but they probably have some pretty good people on the PDI staff at NCM, plus, it's not that far for Corvette engineers to walk over and check them out. Then, if need be, wheel them back to the plant for corrections, upfitting, QC or any other term meaning making them better.

Glad they are taking time to make sure everything is right!
