Edmunds did all of these tests on the same day with the same C7.... hence the same "off" quarter mile time. The test location was at altitude and it was done on 91 octane gas. The 113 trap speed makes me think the car was pulling timing for whatever reason.

I traded my 2007 GT500 in on The C7 and can't wait to get it. The current Shelby GT500 has 662hp and really can't put that power down very well. My 07 had 500hp and it could not put the power down very well on a normal road . No traction and a beast to drive fast. That engine layout has a lot of height so the front end is twice as high as the Vette.

You think the factory tune is ultra sensitive to fuel quality Travis? I wonder what a gallon of E85 would do to a tank of 91. The 1/4 times have repeatedly been slow, something has to give.

Scraping the splitter.
There was a big difference in ambient air conditions between the Edmunds test where they ran a 12.0 at 117.3 and the more recent test where they ran a 12.3x at 113.9 mph (and they have been regurgitating that time on every comparison test...not running the same ET/trap speed over and over again).
On the 12.0 at 117.3 pass in a '14 Corvette ran by Edmunds in July, air temp was 70*, baro was 30.19" at 965' and they were running 93 octane. On the 12.3 at 113.9 mph pass that they keep repeating in various "comparisons" it was 91*, baro was 28.81" at 1121' and they were running 91 octane it. Few cars are going to put up optimal results in such conditions.
I'll also note that the acceleration times they got for the GT500 in this comparison are horrible. Several mags have gone mid-high 11's in them and they are a solid 125 mph car, even in less-than-ideal conditions.

So when testing two domestics, price apparently does matter.
When a domestic runs against an import that card can't be played for some reason... Interesting LOL

Despite an 82-hp advantage, the Shelby did not prevail. The ZL1 Camaro came out on top on the strength of its superior chassis and, to a lesser extent, a lower price.

The manual states 91-octane minimum, but I'm wondering if the PCM adjusts and it makes more power with 93. A 3.4 mph trap speed delta is pretty big, although they did run in pretty crappy conditions. Heading out now, but those test condition numbers can be plugged into a DA calculator on Dragtimes to see the differences between the 117 mph Edmunds pass and this one.
