Sin City, ease up on the OP re the cover issue, please. He's just repeating what he was told by someone who was told by someone else.

That said, I happen to agree with you that it is pretty unlikely that three two-part covers just blew completely off. The way those hood covers, alone, attach makes it pretty unlikely they would blow off very easily.

I think they were deliberately removed, either by the driver or by someone else when the driver stopped. I imagine the driver slept and ate on the cross-country drive, so there could have been an opportunity for tampering. I mean, it isn't like there aren't people, even on this forum, who might want to uncover one for a first look.

Nevertheless, three apparently did arrive without covers for whatever reason and that ain't good which was, I believe, the OP's point.

I don't think you were being too nit picky at all! Good observations. Most of your comments really reflected your taste on the color, stitching, etc. All valid things.

I have had some concern over the level of orange in TR myself as there are some photos that scream orange. However, a slight orange hue isn't a big deal to me really. Thanks for the comments.

Time will tell with the covers. I personally 100% believe they could have blown off due to improper installation. Do I think they 100% came off on the freeway? No. My guess would be the truck driver saw them flapping and proceeded to remove the covers to avoid damage to the cars. All speculation of course. What I do know is the cars definitely had no covers and the driver said they blew off.

Do with that what you will.

You will want to go down to the dealer and see one for yourself. The level of orange was pretty significant at dusk but during the day I believe they pop much more.

These cars don't look bad in any color.

The delivery I saw yesterday had the front and rear upper level covers removed when they were loaded. So says the driver.

Probably an easy fix but I don't know how much work it will be until I have one to tear apart. I know being **** with tips is time consuming.

This is my least favorite kind of Thread . . .

The OP does a thorough job of laying out the fact the he is providing his impressions, good and bad, and that they are his only, and to not shoot the messenger. Then he goes on to make his 'review' of the car . . done, good job.

Naturally folks comment, it's a Forum - here's where it takes the turn that makes it my least favorite type of Thread.

The OP feels it necessary to come back into the Thread and make over 20 additional posts in reply to nearly every comment made. WTF - why bother with the original post - why not say, "I saw a C7 for the first time, ask me questions. I'll give my opinions and then debate any opinion that doesn't jive with mine".

For gawd's sake, post your Thread, stand by it and get out of the way. Come on man . . . . .

The point of the forum is to talk. Otherwise it would be consumereviews.com.

I don't expect to see a response since you got your opinion out there.

[QUOTE=Sin City;1585003817]I still don't believe they "blew off" after looking at the video on how to remove them.

Did they have some kind of problem? Maybe. But, you make an assumption in your first post that may or may not be true. Yet, you state it as fact.

I saw my first C7 yesterday as I was driving East on 408 in a driving rain storm. They were on a transporter and the first car on the top was missing most of the covers and the piece on the hood was flapping around in the wind. I didn't get a really good look as I was traveling in the opposite direction. But it does look like the covers can come loose during transit.

After today's developments my loan approval which expires on the 19th of October will be it for me. I am not running my credit again and will let the car go. I know how frustrating it is.

No but Lake Chevrolet, Singh, and Mark Christopher all supposedly got one off the same truck.

Singh will be jacking up the price and it sounded like they didn't preorder so they should have one but I would call first.

Is this the way all the reviews of this car are going to be?...someone puts up their impressions, and their character and motive are picked apart?? If so, we're gonna get very few that will post...nice...more CF crap...
Thanks for calling it the way it is. People try to do us a favor by posting what we want to hear - their take on what they saw in car and pictures of new arrivals, then they get slammed. Some people need to get a life or maybe it's the new generation of customers that GM is trying to attract? The ME generation?

Disclaimer #1: That red C7 looks ABSOLUTELY awesome.

Disclaimer #2: I think somewhere in this thread someone was crying about how dirty a C7 was when it was delivered to a dealer. Not sure how much I care about that, since I generally tend to wash my cars anyways. Hell my C6 is probably dirty now and needs a wash.
