Demand for new C7 at six month wait..
Would you wait six months to take delivery of your 2014 Corvette Stingray?
Well, you may not have a choice.
CarBuzz.com is reporting that demand for the incredibly popular C7 is apparently going to be so high that General Motors is now warning customers that they may have to wait up to half a year to get behind the wheel of their dream cars.
It should really come as no surprise that demand is so high. After all, the Corvette is priced so reasonably that it’s tens of thousands less than the car that GM engineers targeted, the Porsche 911, and we haven’t seen anything but positive, glowing reviews in the media.
Some customers reportedly are willing to pay $5,000 to $20,000 to reach the top spot on the delivery list at some Chevy dealerships, though we would invite potential Stingray buyers to contact the dealers on our blog who promise they will sell the cars at MSRP.
The wait could grow even longer, though, as an unidentified Chevrolet marketing manager in the report warns that overseas demand from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East appears to be just as strong as it is in the U.S.

Waiting on the hi-po model, so I figure earliest for me to have that would be around this time next year.
I believe the report that demand is high for the 7. I think this vette is going to be a smash hit.

In China the Corvette price is Ferrari-like but the Ferrari doesn't suffer similar price boost? If so, why would that be?

I meant in China the C7 is priced like a US Ferrari; Ferrari's in China are off the chart expensive. Sorry for the confusion. There's money to be made, apparently, but the export fees severely impact profitability.

More crap from the Chevrolet PR Department. There are allocation spots open right now at some Forum dealers. They may be right about the six month wait if all the cars have defects that have to shipped to Nashville for extensive repairs and delays. Anyway in six months the 2014 model year will be in build out and ordering guides for the 2015s will be firmly in hand. It's all just GM hype trying to reverse all the bad ju ju the defective and quarantined cars sitting in Tn. Has added to the poo poo party. Sorry GM you couldn't keep the lid on this one.

It's only the truth, I say it as I see it. You already have folks here waiting 3 months and counting for cars that were built in August and they still don't have in there Garage, what's so funny about that?
