Brought it home 3/21/17. Just waiting for it to warm up and the snow to melt.

Default Interesting distribution.

I found this extremely interesting. I wonder what the percentage of owners are a part of this forum. Shouldn't be hard to parse out based on total number of C7's sold since inception. You should be able to figure out the percentage of forum members based on total number sold versus registered users. Also, you can see the concentration of owners across the U.S. I bet you could determine the median income of most owners based on this map as well. Just an interesting exercise.

Yea, statistics like this are fun. I have the Collector's Edition registry going in another post and from the Google Sheet where I'm tracking the cars it updates a similar map that can be found here.

But besides just mapping the data, there can be some other interesting views of the data. Take a look at that Google Sheet, there is a statistics tab where I started cataloging and graphing some of the configurations. The more data of course that we can get on this stuff the more interesting it gets, but it's not always possible to get a statistically relevant collection of data.

Just to be clear, I sure as hell am not going to put in the work to do it! Don't have the time, but it would be interesting if someone did.

That map your creating is interesting. The guy near Stoll Mountain west of Colorado Springs caught my eye. That guy is in the middle of nowhere and is probably super wealthy. Maybe a summer home. Most of the houses out that way are huge and on "huge tracts of land".

Default Great map

[QUOTE=jagamajajaran;1585120154]I thought it might be fun to see where C7s are popping up across the country so I created an online map for Corvette Forum C7 owners to post their location if they so desire.

You have the option of creating a marker right on your home or you can simply mark the city you live in.

The link to the map is Corvette Forum C7 Owners Map

INSTRUCTION FOR ADDING A MARKER TO THE MAP

- On the upper left tabs, select "Add Marker - Simple." An "Add Entry" box will appear.

- Enter information in the "Entry Name" field such as the model year of your C7 (yes, I know it doesn't matter this year, but next year it will), color, trim level, and coupe or convertible. You can also select the color of your marker here, allowing you to make your marker the color of your Corvette.

- Then either enter a specific location (City and State) or zoom to the location that you want to mark on the map.

- If you entered information in the "Location" field, click the "Preview" button to make sure the marker is where you want it. If it is, click the "Submit" button.

- If you zoom to the specific location that you want to mark, click on the "Click on a map location" hyperlink. A "Click on map to select location will appear. Click "OK" and then single click on your location and a marker will appear. Finally, click the "Submit" button to post your marker.

INSTRUCTION FOR EDITING A MARKER

When someone creates a marker on the map, the following dialogue box appears on the screen:

Be sure you copy and save the link. This is the only way for the originator of the marker to return and edit the marker. If this link is not saved, the map administrator is the one that has to edit the marker. (I am the map admin and will gladly do this for anyone as needed as I have time to do so.) [/QUOTht
That is really neat
