Don't leave your keys in the car or else..
The car will honk at you twice I laid my keys in the passenger seat and got out of the car and shut the door. Totally forgetting they were there. The car quickly honked at me twice and didn't lock the doors.

Well, thats a great improvement over what the C6 did to some of it's owners.

It honks? That's annoying... Does it also honk when you lock it and engage the alarm? It should beep, not honk. Honks used for user notifications are incredibly obnoxious. Too loud.

I like most of what I know about the car, but that's a poor implementation of a good feature.

And yes, it honks when you set the alarm or forget your keys inside

C6...I made the mistake of putting my keys in my tennis bag while playing tennis....when time to leave, you throw the bag in the trunk close it and then look for your keys in your pocket....they aren't there....you are locked out Only way in is to get a ride to your extra set of keys and back....

I can see this happening easily.
Call me old fashioned but I still like putting keys in the ignition.

I'm not sure if those were unrelated thoughts, but having to put your keys in the ignition doesn't solve this "problem" (which isn't really a problem)... It makes it worse, if anything.

I think the c7 has a button under the deck lid that allows you to open the hatch. I would believe that if you put your FOB in the hatch area, you would be able to press the button to open up the hatch since the FOB would only be a couple of feet away.

[QUOTE=c6joe;1585123675]The C6 also has the external release button, but if your keys are in the hatch area and you close the hatch it will NOT activate the release... I'd be surprised if the C7 behaved any differently.

That's ok, you're allowed. It's personal perspective and I think it's ok. Not going to let my day be ruined by my car's two short toots to tell me I screwed up. I could use the help .

If you tapped twice quickly on the horn, its exactly what you are going to hear if you close the doors with the keys still in the car. I've actually heard it several times and its far from loud or obnoxious. Furthermore, I'd imagine most people would find this incredibly helpful for not locking their keys in the car. Dont want to hear it? Then dont leave your keys in the car. Pretty simple process.
As far can you turn the horn notification on. Yes.. just like the C6 you can make the lock & unlock notification either horn, flashing lights or without a notification. With all the notifications turns off you can still slightly hear the actuator to lock/unlock the door.

My 05 c6 did not have the rear hatch release. Nice to know that they revised it later. You would think that if the FOB was a foot inside the hatch, it would respond they same if you had it in your pocket outside the vehicle.
