Any C6Z owners trading in for the C7?

See if you can line up a bone stock C6 GS and a bone stock C6 Z06, for side by side racing with the C7. That way we can compare the ET's and trap speeds without everyone jumping on board saying the C7's times were slow because "........." and so forth.
Same track conditions, same weather, same track prep, and so forth.

Your Z is one of the best looking Z cars that I have seen. Great job, keep that baby.
I have an 07 Z06 that I only track. I picked up a 427 in Cyber Gray eight months ago. I plan to keep the 427 and pass it on to my sons. Hopefully I will get a 2016 Z06 and trade in my 2007 Z then.
I really like the new C7 but not enough to get rid of my Z or 427.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but here are a few interior shots.
I do wonder what John Caravaggio plans for the C7 since the interior is already so sweet.

Yes. Probably in 2-3 years. If I could sell my z06 for what I would need I would do it tomorrow. The refinement and fun to drive of the c7 easily outshines the extra HP of the c6z IMO. No more hot tunnel, no more rough ride, no more loud exhaust, nicer stereo, nicer seats, nicer dash, etc. All of that appeals to me. Adding power is easy. A c6z, c7, etc are all way too slow for my taste, but that is what the aftermarket is for. Adding HP is a lot easier than adding a new dash/seats/etc.
That's exactly why I traded my '08 Z06 today for a Z-51

Steering is a step up. Tranny shifts better. Auto rev matching is cool as hell. Car feels far more planted and less twitchy. Low end power is there. Overall the c7 feels slow as hell but my z06 makes 1000+rwhp so that is a given. Brakes are good. Dash, a/c, vented seats, etc are all awesome. Even the heated seats are much better. I haven't even taken the roof off yet but I expect that to be cool.

not right now, side by side the C6 Z has a "classic" almost muscle car look compared to the C7, alot smoother alot less busy. The seats look nice, I would take those, as far as the 7 speed, the rev match, all the electronic gizmo BS, not needed by me................
As far as the torque curve, sounds nice, then again diesel trucks have a hell of a torque curve too, from the numbers I have seen so far the Lt1 is a slight improvement over a LS3, the traps are very unimpressive, show me one trapping 123+ and I might sing a slightly different tune
if we were talking base C6 vs base C7 , give me the C7

All I got to say is go drive one. It is hard to put all the changes in words. My wife went on for 10 minutes about how much nicer the doors are. They aren't as big, easier to get in and out of, more solid, etc. When a girl notices a bunch of things and isn't a car person at all, you know they did something correct.

Not for a base model/the Z51 option

I just put a deposit down on a C7 yesterday and am on my dealers list about 7th or 8th for a Z51. I have an 06Z that has cam, tune, headers and I also did the Caravaggio complete interior upgrade. The power of my Z is intoxicating but when it came down to it, I never really get to use that power on the street. I don't track the 06 because I have an 02Z that has been completely converted to a track car only (cage, gutted, lowered, penske coil overs etc. and so on). I get my fill of the track with my 02 so the 06 is just a driver. I figured I might as well enjoy the newest thing that will be a better street car than my modded 06Z.
BTW, the 06Z if for sale

am driving an 2011 zr1, Waiting for new C7 to get past 3400 on line for 10 days. Had zr1 advertised for a week, but everyone wants it for free. I have room to park both if I need too. I will put money down as soon as the slightest hit comes about an Zo7 or a ZR! or Zr2

I'm very excited and look forward to it, but I'm on the fence namely because I'll never buy a car that I cannot test drive. Not to mention the lack of pro driving reviews (actual driving and handling) and track times. These of course will come after time, but until that happens money is staying in the bank.
MR cars can be difficult to drive; their handling goes against our instincts from daily driving FF/R/A cars. I also wouldn't buy this (any high power MR) w/out taking a driving class for it, so that's yet more cost onto it. That's IMHO of curse, but will see as all the pics of over-steer start rolling in and insurance skyrockets.

Gives new meaning to the term "What could go wrong?"
