Just posted a new thread about a crack in my windshield which mysteriously appeared after clamping the top back on my coupe. Was your windshield eventually replaced? What caused the crack? If replaced, was everything as good as new after? Thanks!
Since I paid full MSRP the dealer paid, never had a problem since the replacement
Thanks Marissa. The car arrived on Sat. 4/19/14 to dealer. I saw it today 4/21/14. Everything so far so good except rear passenger side bumper fitment has unacceptable gap on deck by rear hatch and on side seam. Salesman will see for a fix tomorrow. I wonder how extensive a repair this is and why quality control let it get by?

Hi Joe,
Very happy to hear that your C7 has arrived! Please let me know how everything goes with the front bumper, and if I can look into it further.

Marissa, good news. The "Rear" bumper was taken care of either 4/23 or today 4/24 when I saw it. The fitment or seam where the bumper meets the quarter panel has been aligned and is 98% as tight as the driver side rear seem. Close enough. Kudos to Paramus Auto Mall Chevrolet in NJ for a quick response and thanks to service manager Tim Gannon.
Thanks again,
Joe

I had the same issue, driver's rear bumper fitment had an uneven gap when compared to the passenger's side. I had my local dealership try and align it; it is definitely an improvement over what I had before and they aligned it as far as it would go. There is still a slight gap, but the dealership said its within GM tolerances so I am not going to worry about it. Furthermore, Corvettes are mass produced so I can't expect perfection from every corner, haha

The driver door on my new C7 cope has a problem. When I open it and only about 10% of the time the window (although it seems to come down 1/2 inch) catches on the black trim piece on the front pilar of the car. Am I the only one where this happens? The dealer "lubricated" the rubber seal and now my window is greasy every time it is rolled down all the way. In my mind a crappy "repair" which did nothing to help the situation. The glass still catches in the front. Any suggestions?
Got my TR vert on Wednesday. Many really attractive qualities but the exterior fit and finish, especially the waviness in the panels and the orange peel in the paint, is poor. Very disappointing.

Take it back to dealer, and remind him that window position is adjustable. It needs to be shifted to the rear.
Takes a lot more time than smearing grease on the seal, but it is the proper repair. Grease on the seal was really a poor choice. Like putting a band aid on a gun shot wound.
We used to call this type of mechanic a shoemaker. (Really was a discredit to actual skilled cobblers.)

Considering most of the problems in here are probably caused by lazy line workers, I doubt it.
What a stupid comment. Oviously you have never had to do real work like work on an assembley line where GM gives you a minute and a half of work to do in a minute. That lazy line worker puts that panel on the car either using a jig to place it correctly or a robot most likely put most of the panels on it. In my plant ALL Most all panels were welded on by a robots and the doors hood and trunk were installed using a jig that the lazy line worker had no control over. The people who did were mostly people who never did a honest days work in their life and just complained about those who did.

I wholeheartedly agree! Better to complain about the GM execs who make at least ten times as much, with many not doing more than trying to figure out how to get the workers to do a fifteen-minute operation in ten minutes...
Weird thing. On two occasions now, I get in and my battery is dead. One time, I just waited a bit and it charged enough to start the car. Then, all kinds of lights were on... check engine, service stabletrack, the car skidding picture, The p with a wrench below it. Crazy stuff. Then after a few fresh starts it all goes away. The other time, I used jumper cables and jumped it and had lights on for a while, then they go away. Battery seems to stay at about 13 on the low side. Any ideas?
has anyone heard of the C7 having issues with spun rod bearings? This has happened to mine supposedly and one other at the Hennessey facility. one of the clientes c7 prior to modification and one (mine) after modification. They tell me it is a GM/Factory flaw and they expect a recall eventually on the problem.

GM sells, as an option, a battery maintainer. Want to hazard a guess why they do that? You've probably killed your battery with it being dead twice. Try and get the dealer to give you a new one.
Also, might I suggest that you invest and use (if you haven't and aren't) a C-Teck battery maintainer?
A board sponsor sells it and the link to the sponsor is in my link. The connection is magnetized. If you forget to disconnect it and pull away, the connection just pulls off and drops to the floor.

I ordered a C7 in Feb. and received this April. Ordered Torch Red with Carbon Flash dual racing stripes. I received Torch Red with Cyber Gray dual racing stripes. It has been over three weeks since delivery and still no resolution.
VIN 03824 5300 miles: I have developed a rattle either in the cockpit in the dash area, or less likely under the hood.
It is noticeable when normal acceleration occurs at about the 35-38 mph range, and again when normal deceleration from about 57 mph to 50 mph or so. It appears that the harmonics are just right during these two episodes to cause a very noticeable rattle/vibration.
From experience, these kinds of rattles are hard to pin down, especially if within the dash.

Was driving me batty until I figured it out. I had remounted my Escort just over the security light front center of dash. In the process the slide on the mount that goes into the detector had caused a slight separation in the seam between the top and bottom of the unit and (on an extreme goose of the throttle) I can cause it to eject back into the cabin . Gotta get it fixed, probably with super glue & vice. Anyway that's the buzzzzzzzzzzzzz resonating in mine.
