Buying C7 Corvette in SoCal
I am ordering a 2015 C7 Corvette this week. I decided to order one since the color combination I want is not too common. Tried to get it ordered at a socal dealer but no go. Might be a good thing since none of the dealers have much for allocations.
So while socal is the ideal environment for Corvettes, I really don’t see that many on the road. I see more Ferraris and Lamborghinis than Corvettes. I wish that Corvettes could make more progress in this heavily import crazed market.
The local dealers are holding back the corvettes success here. I don’t begrudge anyone the choice of how to run their business. But a high volume corvette dealership would kill in socal. Plenty of interest from all the car fanatics in the area. But the cycle of high pricing, low allocations and low sales volumes continues.
When I get my new C7 and people ask me where I got it, sadly I’ll say back east. Very happy with my deal and the salesman I have worked with. I would prefer to buy locally.

I'm in SoCal and had to go to Atlanta to get the car I wanted below MSRP. As long as people pay the inflated price, the dealers are not going to change.

I tried several in So Cal as well with no luck. Nothing but way over MSRP nonsense and lots of false statements. I really wanted to buy local but I ended up ordering my 2015 from Michigan.

Had mine Courtesy Delivered to a Dealer in OC last month. Bought from a dealer in Louisville, KY. Chevy dealers in SoCal are a joke. Most were asking $10K over MSRP earlier this year when I ordered mine.

I made a full MSRP offer at the Chevy Dealer in Irvine and they turned me down today. They want 10k over sticker. After tax brings the car to 92k. All due Respect we are now in used Ferrari F430 territory. I love the Vette for styling and Value. I found another couple dealers that will let me order a 2015 at sticker.

Bought mine at Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge, at MSRP. Satisfied with deal considering I got a good price on extended warranty and great deal on trade-in. I was not willing to jump through the hoops of dealing out of state (IMHO).

Melting Slicks
This is mine being delivered to the rose bowl!
I went through Coughlin in Ohio. *** SoCal dealers. They are all beyatches. I will get a Z06 from a forum dealer and laugh at their superior intellect! As Kahn would say.

Same here, bought 2 Vettes from Boardwalk Chevy and traded a 2011 Shelby in to them. Both ordered from Tim B. Service has gone down at that dealer. Last time I came in I wanted to look at Laguna Blue outside and Tim did not bother. He did mention that he needed to have more orders and if I wanted to order. I will not buy from Tim again. Eduardo Hernandez sales manager there spent all the time needed to help and very professional. I told him about credit union discount and asked if he could speak to owners to consider my offer even add $1000.00 to the price for courtesy price I would pay anyway since I had previously purchased 2 Cars. I really wanted to keep the local. They declined the offer. I will not buy there again. If you do want to buy in Northern California and pay MSRP I highly recommend Eduardo Hernandez.

If the dealers out there won't discount 'em, that's not your fault to be sad about.
I bought my new C3 from a heavy discounting dealer 750 miles away from where I lived. He beat the others by over $2,000.00 - 20%, in 1976! No Internet either!

I ordered here in SoCal a 2015 at Supplier, I could only fined 2 Dealers close to me that would approve supplier. Now I just have to wait... Was told looking for November. Gave a Thousand for deposit and got the order number and a letter Approved for supplier price. I am #5 on the list and they get 2-3 per mo. I have bought a new Corvette from this dealer in the past. Now I have sold my 2009 Z51 so it well be easy to do the deal when the C7 gets here. Last year I could not find any dealer to accept doing GMS.

I was there a few weeks ago. They wouldn't budge on the $10K markup so I found a local dealer, AutoNation Chevrolet in Valencia and sent their internet manager an offer I received through TrueCar.com from Penske Chevrolet in Cerritos. $5725 off MSRP on a '14 Z51 3LT Convertible and they accepted it. Seemed too easy.

I wouldn't be "sad" about where I bought it. I'd point to the license plate frame from the "back East dealer."
